G'day all..

Just thought I'd drop in, say hi and check out this place Fimp was advertising on his t-shirt.

I have a slightly modified 99' TLS. Granted, not quite an SF but somewhere in the middle [8D]

I've had it off the road for a bit doing a couple of mods here and there. But its just about done and can't wait to be back on the road again in a few weeks. [:o)]

Hehehe, G'day Ben :)

I was gonna post some pics actually, just trying to work out the tags.

Doesnt quite look like that any more.

I hate the pics that were in Rapid, it was rushed and thats not quite how I wanted it to look, well certainly not where I could look at it and say I'm happy with everything if you know what I mean. Never wanted it to look too gaudy or loud.

Blowing up the motor was a good excuse to strip it all down and go over it all again and fix all the little things I didn't like.

At the moment I'm rushing around trying to get it finished for MCX. Here's some pics from last week after I got the motor back from the painter. The motor is in now, basically I have to fit the bodywork, subframe and hook all the wiring back up. Few other little mods I have to finish off like the clutch cover breather. Yes, I sold the clear clutch cover. The purple bits are gone, much much better front blinkers. And I've got some more stuff coming back from Electromold, hopefully on Tuesday. The frame, swingarm, linkages and all the odd size suspension bolts that I couldnt find in Ti, starter motor, top bit of the sidestand etc are all nickel plated. No more bloody autosol LOL

Also have a set of plastic fairings that fit, unlike the carbon ones. Same airbrushing only better, and no red bits on the front.

Its a billet clutch cover, made to take a Boysen reed. Theres a reed valve in the crank vent normally, it draws in only. You can just see the tip of the hose tail in the center of the V in the second pic. It blows out through a tiny outlet in one valve cover. I tried a few ideas as you know. Now I have the valve covers blocked. So the flow goes in through the center of the V, out through the clutch cover and then back to the V. On the line between the reeds is an oil seperator. I made it up with an outlet on the top on the other side of a chunk of foam. That goes to the airbox to provide a bit of vacuum.

The fins are normally there. The engine was sprayed in the same colour base as the bodywork, and the same black/bronze metalic stuff on the fairings was used to highlight bits of the motor. I love how it came out. Already tried a few colour ideas on spare covers and such but wasn't happy with any of them.
