Hi could any one tell me if a gear box from a 91-92 gsxr1100 will go
into 85 -86 750??

yes but clutches wont fit one got straight cut gears one got helical cut gears for the drive off the crank.

I though folk did it the other way round ?
To give the 11 a 6 speed box ?

or am i just thinking of something else......

your correct usually they do it the other way, but for various reasons ( usually avalibility, but sometimes for preformance ) the latter being that the 11 box is stronger and better suited to higher HP applications.

G'day oz, got it ok, i'm happay with most of it, the headers would have been ok but i'm going to build a new set with a better design, and the rest is going onto a an 85 gsxr 750, which is also getting fuel injection ( curtisy of an 02 wreck that i bought for the motor ). cash is a bit tight so it will go slowly but its getting there. I think that i won't worry about the spare cases that you got at this stage
