2006 Bandit 1200's.
Not sure what AU get's, Faired / unfaired ?
Few new bits,
Split Front / Rear seats,
Polished Case's,
Clear indicators and a few new bits of trim,
SV styling,
Can's NOT a "bolt on" anymore :(

I would expect this to be the last of this type of B12's,
at least with carbs.

Love it or hate it, for Suzuki fans everywhere, at least it
means Suzuki are still producing THAT engine [8D]

Rapid had a write up in the last issue. According to them the Red one is the Oz model and it comes in one colour and one style exavtly as you see it. No major changes to speak of. Jusr 45mm more on the swingarm and the tank is smaller in size but retains the same capacity. This apparently gives the rider a more forward sitting feel. It still has carbs .... so no EFI yet. I kinda like it. Not too thrilled about the longer swingarm as it would probably reduce the wheelyability (is that a word ? :D) But overall if I had the cash Id probably grab one and turn it into something decent.

I can really picture it with a bigass braced swingarm, no bikini plastic and a bellypan. HELL YES!

Thought the Naked / Black looked the best of the bunch,
although I still think the very first on the Mk-1 style Naked
Bandits looked far better.

Have a look at a few new big bikes,
Hard to find one with carbs.
New emmision reg's in EU and USA seem to mean it will have to be injection.
Will Suzuki bother to inject a 20 year old engine that it only uses
in one model of bike ? I think not. Could be the last of the B12's
as we know them.

Is it just me or can no one else see that frame? It's shite. It's so disjointed you're stuck with that palstic in the middle for ever. I don't think there's much hope for this one. The best part is the fact that this means my bike will still be running for another 20 years due to the continuation of the engine. Thank you Mr.Suzuki.

Yeah, with the 3 generations of B12's, they seemed to start
off real good and then go down hill (IMO).
Fingers crossed that they sell SOME of these over the next
3 or 4 years (or how ever long the model runs) as I think
that might be the last we see of that engine :(:(:(

Maybe Mr.Suzuki is a smarter fellow than we think? Think about it, this bike will be bought by older guys into touring and taking it easy. Lots of highway use to run it in nicely and maintain it for a few years for fuck sticks like us to buy a really good engine at a low cost. Thanks again Mr.Suzuki. Keeping the streetfighters alive.

Anyone who can come up with Katana 1000's and 1100's,
1135EF's, GSXR1100's, Bandit12's and Hayabusa's is
pretty f*ckin smart by my standards anyway.[8D]

(Lets keep quiet about some of the GS500 twins,
GT380 triples and RE rotary's though shall we !) [:o)]

Come on Tony, what about the venerable water-bottle?

Or the X7? that fugger was uglier than me in the mornings, or any time of day for that matter.

Always manage to avoid any contact with the Ugly heavy
3 pot "Kettles" :D

X7's were gems !
A good set of pipes and someone who knew what they were
doing around the ports and they were Giant killers.
First bike i ever found that WANTED to wheelstand [8D]
Mind you... at the time i was on a Yam XS250 so almost
anything else felt like a missile ;)

I certainly prefer the look of the earlier ones too. I think after 99 was where they started to get all fussy and shiny with em.

I just came back to delete my anti Dutch post but you beat me to the reply button.

Photo is of a B6 not a B12 but both very similar,
several parts will swop.

Easy to spot early 6's from '12's.
6 motor silver - 12 motor black.
6 rear peg hangers welded/painted - 12 bolt on alloy.
6 has 2 clocks - 12 has 3 (fuel gauge in centre)

I think the 6 tank will even fit the 12, but there's no
sender for the fuel guage in it.

And YES :D Cam's and Carbs and a good pipe bring to 12 back
up to closer to "R" spec.

Big Downside to B12's is the sh*tty W*nky Cr*p clutch !
OK with a stock bike, or just a can, but start to make some big
bhp and its "Slippy Slip slip" Been there, Done That.
Only real answer is to Bin the 2-flat-plate spring job and
convert to a traditional coil spring GSXR jobbie [8D]

If there was a brand new 1996/97 unfaired UK spec Bandit in
a bike shop I would walk past 99% of new stuff to get to it [8D]

Tony.J.
(had B12 for 6 years and more fun than a Busa)

I can just imagine it,
JMC getting loads of orders for 50mmm UNDER-length swingarms :D
I always thought that along with THAT engine, the way the old
Bandits mis-behaved were their biggest selling points [8D]

SPOT ON [8D]
Couldnt agree more.

Was offered a VERY good deal on the current shape B12 today,
Brand new, 2 year warantee etc.
Think it was 'cos Suzuki have plenty of the current model in and
know there's a new shape out very soon.
Would have signed on the line had it been the 1st shape.

Dont like the new frame - thats why ive got a older style bandit.

It is likely that they will put EFI on it - what I think it maybe the only model now without EFI?? And I thinkz Suz will keep that engine rolling all tooling payed off a decade ago!
