Hey all, As you all might have figure I am now going to a Jap bike.

My Options are 1 of three bike for best city run around, Good-Low servicing costs. Parts Cost and all out reliability. AS you know I am not Brand biased Just after the best quality for the money and good performance that I can build on.

1. choice is the new Yami 06 FZ6N in either black or silver. I really like the look of this bike, ITs the same donk as the 1st generation R6's but with dif cams so it makes more power down low
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/48326821822865.JPG

2. is the 06 Suzuki SV650 in Black we know what that one looks like - But I have kinda lost my faith in V-Twins and I now have a voice in the back of my head telling me that Twins are shite for city use.

3. Abit more to pay off But the Kwaka Z750

So i dunno. I like yams and it looks like it there is some room to do some mods and again be abit dif. The SV650 i know there are lots of mods but theres that Vtwin confidence lost i now have and the Kwaka might be alittle out my price range so i dunno if its worth it.

Any advice/expereince? Views on Looks and performance? I dont want to get a bigger second hand bike cause i'm over mucking around on a thrashed bike plus I know I am not ready for a big bore.

Cheers Fellas

Nah the Er6n's par twin felt like butter. Like if I pushed her on the limiter something will break. Seemed like if I were to Use it everyday and also on rideouts it would fall apart. Shame though. It looks cool

Hey Boh,

Not sure how they compare on price but I'd be going for a Hornet 900. Re: secondhand - most of them seem to be bought by ye olde farts and so live pampered lives. You'd be hard pressed to spend much more than $8K on a mint low km example.

Same size as what you are looking at, dirt cheap insurance & running costs but heaps of oomph for round town.

The Mighty Hornet was the easiest big bike I've ridden round town.

Extra big plus - I can put you onto a super deal for pipes, luggage, bars & fender elininator...

SV650 from a comfort factor is an excellent day to day bike, but lacks balls, I'd up it to the 1000.

Z750 Haven't ridden one but if it's anything like my Z1000 then it is a fucking fun bike to ride and handles better than the SV, but a bit harder on the arse.

FZ6R Mate of mine just got one and commutes daily on it, he's had no problems with it and does a lot of w/e ridding on top of his commuting.

Hope that helps???

Out of all of them, the SV sounds the sweetest sound to it with after markets

buy the z.... good for around town and not bad on the long haul either.. The motor is tuned for torque and is a sleeved down zx9 motor. The yam. is based on the r6 motor a bit buzzy for my liking. So the z750 engine should outlast the others, something to consider if you are going to do high k's.

When I bought the z750 I looked at the same options and the cb600, cb900 hornets, z1000.

The only thing I'll look at changing on the z are the brakes... there ok, but nothing special..

Hey Boh,
Zeds a nice bike, mates Mrs has one and he seems to ride it more than she does.
Hornets are real good value $11990 ride away (and they feel small).
Test riding a few is the go.

Ok i sqeezed in a test ride on the FZ6N after work and I have to say I liked it, Needs pipes and some better bars. Will get a test on the SV650 this week as awell. The FZ6N uses all the same parts as the R6. Only thing That needs to be done is revise the exhuast with air filter and chip, get some stronger fighter bars and remove the mirrors and the rear hugger.

I really do think it comes down to Vtwin Vs 4cyl. And I really have lost confidence in a Vtwin. But i will test ride it with an opend mind.

not a bad final selection...

Not knowing exactly what your riding is, I'll take a stab..

I know a guy the traded an '02 900SS on a Z750 and was pleased as punch... had riden his mates Z and that's why he went for one... have a look at a demo... the kwaka dealer has a demo one up here cheap, they tried to sell it to me the other day... tempted but didn't bite...

I'd put an SV650 in the stable quick as blink, I test rode one for a customer the other day and man... what a FUN bike.. I've also got a mate that has a few bikes in his stable and the SV is his pick for fun around town and in the twisties...

Got my GSXR 1000 streetfighter I've gotta sell shortly if ya intersted in havin a bit more grunt.... $10 grand with RWC ... need to buy a lathe, so I gotta consolidate some toys :(
