Thats looking very nice, what you making the top shock mount from? Are you going to bolt it or weld it to the frame.
Can't wait to see it finished. Good work.

top mount, i'll fab up from 2 5mm black steel plates, and bolt them to the existing shock mount, with a 17mm dia bolt and a 14mm dia bolt. im going to make it an adjustable mount, so that i can raise it up an inch for track days when i require a little more cornering clearence ;)

thanks for the comments thus far guys :)

cheers.joe.

davo, the only thing stopping me taking this bike to the fools run will be people delaying me in the build process, ie. parts take to long to get to me.

ive made it my goal to get it done by the fools run, since the start of the thread about the fools run. i have the money for it, now i just need the bits! the time.. i can make avail... bugger work!! lmao

cheers.joe.

gday all.. finally the chassis is all welded and bolted together (tho ive left the centre stand on there till i finish the build)

chassis mods thus far have been...

chopped subframe, replaced with a "mini" one, that allows a hayabusa subframe to be bolted on.

the R1 swingarm, has been reduced in width, and the bearings have been brought in.

i had to have new bearing collars machined up, in order to fit between the mainframe rails.

the rear brake master cylinder holding braket has been moved over 6mm (outwards) in order to clear the swingarm.

the top shock mount was fabricated from 6mm HT mild steel, and welded to the original shockmount, so its not going anywhere. the dogbone link was then bolted inbetween the 2 mounting points of the centre stand. the rear shock is Yamaha R1 item.

the front... has had the bearing races replaced in order to run tapered needle bearings in the headset, and likewise fitted to the gsxr750 tripples, which then run down to the gsxr 750 USD forks, and the RGV250 4 pot capilers.

next on the to do list is to finish up the intake manifold, the intercooler fitment, finalise the turbo install and also make up some rearsets (given up looking!!)

heres some pics... enjoy.

cheers.joe.
