Can some of you guys put an Open With Caution (OWC) or Not Work Safe (NWS) in the topic for some of these?
I'm consulting in the Public Circus at the moment and it could quite well cost me a job.
Just food for thought.

CJ I have had a few close calls at work... now I can't afford being caught looking at something dodgy.. so only home access for me now bit of a bugger....

I copped displinary here last year over opening a thread off another board which despite it's motorcycle related title contained a bird getting stuffed by a donkey. Desktop support randomly monitors what we watch here so NWS and OWC are a good idea. I enjoy Cyberbludging like I am right now but if a site starts containing too much crap like that it isn't worth my job to keep visiting it. Simple fact and I'm not trying to be a wowser.

Personally I come to bike sites for the bikes ...
If ya want to post porn then go visit porn sites....
"cos as you's say .... ya never know who's watchin and most stuff is tracked .... and certain things will flag up if an administrator has set it up to do that.....
mmmm .. now a donkey .... nearly a horsepower site but not quite :D :D :D

Well, these things also backfire on the inhabitants of the web boards as well. The site I was visiting now can't be accessed from any of this companies computers, thats a company that employs over 100,000 people and is tagged as a porn site as a result. The company that does the network support in Australia shares this information with other computer firms that handle this companies networks in other parts of the world . That site then gets tagged on their databases as a porn site as well. As they don't use their lists of know porn sites as a seperate list for each firm they do business with it is then classified as a porn site for every network they administer and the same goes for ever other company they have shared this information with. So, in a short time a site can be blacklisted from alot of computers that outsource their network needs, be a bad site to programs like Net Nanny and get alot of poor buggers in strife for cyber bludging. When you think of how many regular contributers here use work computers to access here it puts a new slant on it.

Ok, boys, I must admit I agree. The stuff has only recently be turning up and even I have to watch myself with some people walking by at work. Let's keep it to no porn hey? I'll just take away any I see if it's over the top as let's face it, I did create this site for bikes. I'm also going to have to get a moderator soon as I'm flat chat trying to keep up with everything. I already know who I'm going to ask and if he says no I'll need a show of hands.

Now that I'm at home I can safely open everything without getting paranoid about bored network admin people getting me fired. By the way, the site I was referring to was the Z Power Australia site Forum which is now tagged as a porn site so stopping anyone from the company I work from browsing it looking for parts during work hours. I know the owner, Allan, and he's a nice bloke but as I do most of my online shopping at work I now have to do it elsewhere. As people taking responsibility for their own actions seldom works on the web a moderator(s) is sensible move. I like it here but if it's not work safe then I'll have to have to limit my visits serverely to off work hours once or twice a week if that and so will others. Thats the reality.

I mod on a few sites and depending on the time of year it can really keep ya on ya toes.
One I've been on since the begining a few years back (XLForum.net)... has over 5250 members and had over 7 million hits in the first 2 weeks of this year... and we've outgrown a dedicated server and have to go to another upgrade ... goin dual Xeon this time
The northern winter sends a few blokes stir crazy when they can't get out on their bikes.. and some of the posts take a bit of keeping on top of but it rarely gets too far out of hand as we've been pretty tight on it since day one and try and keep it family friendly in most of the sections ... we have specific off topic areas and a behind the scenes members area, so most of it is kept in check..
But these things need to be looked at in the bigger picture as wazza said .... and I don't think any of us here are prudes or wowsers.. ;) ... probably more like bloody deviants :D

Just because I use the whole chicken rather than just a feather doesn't make me a deviant. Oh, hang on, it does. My Bad.....

Ok, he said "yes". The longest running member is now the new mod, so welcome the "Bloke with a smaller stick" : Ozkat. He can do all moderator things like delete topics and change anybody's stuff so don't piss him off...... It may be a small stick, but it's very powerful.

Well, thanks for the support people, I half expected to get flamed, which I would have taken in good grace.
As some who know me well will attest to, I am far from a prude and I have been known to have stayed up all night with a sick friend on many occasions.
Maybe there is a need for a sealed section?
Roll on the April Fools run and I'm looking forward to meeting you all.
