this is one of the 14 bikes my mechanic owns, most of you will know what it is, but for those who dont, its an fz 750.. not sure what yearmid to lat 80's, maybe someone can tell me..?

Why put a high performance frame around a low performance motor? All you need for a humpty motor is a wooden platform next to a sludge pond.

But then if he has 14 bikes he's probably after something different.

the spondon harley is for a customer of his, my mate thinks the idea is stupid, but he gets payed to build it, so he doesnt really care what motor goes in it...
i previously said that the engine didn't fit in the frame to. the guy who bought the frame from spondon spent $14,000 on it, and it didn't fit the engine.. the guy ordered it to fit the enigine, but it just wouldnt fit. my mate had to mill down the left engine cover and some of the rocker cver to make it fit.. also one of the engine mounts wasn't straight so he had to make a new one... you think spending $14,000 on something it should damn well be a perfect fit..

i must say i dont think it "flows" at all if i make any sense? zorst is all wrong i think. if you were that keen to build a H-D special you would think you would use a S&S motor not a dirty old sporty donk?

i agree, the zorst looks kinda of stupid, and the tail doesn't suit the rest of the bike...

As much as I [u]REALLY</u> hate to say it [:I], but the 1200 spurtster can be quite 'lively'. Mate back in ol' blighty had one and it wasn't tooo bad.
And an s&s is fine but sporty's are unit construction so they make a more compact unit. I'd prefer a revvy 1200 to a big old thumper of 1600+ cc

Yeah, but they have shit gearboxes, and being unit you can't replace them with something else so easily.

the picture has simply been "mirrored" cos is more natural to look at bikes going from left to right cos thats how the english languages works

am i the only one who realises that?
