Depending on your budget but the vtr250 is the best 250 on the market at the moment
the same question has been asked somewhere else on the site but the vtr can be takin
to QLD/track/commute/shops/mates/scratchin on the weekends its good for every thing
and the best part is its based on a duc monsta so it looks trick and with a desent
end can sounds fuckn great and also has heaps of street cred and with some minor mods
makes a awesome little fighter Starting price 2nd hand $4000.

This will be you if you by one:):D[:p][8D]

RGV 250 here, loved that bike even if it hurt my neck like crazy, being 6'2" means most bikes hurt your neck mind you.

This topic has been posted before

TTR600 (nothing like a big single)

and agree with Damo VTR250 is one of the better learner bikes around, but i reckon dirt bikes make good learner bikes too and at least are still useful in the bush even at 250cc so a better purchase.

Learned on dirtbikes, first roadie RD250 with 350 top end.
I'm still learning.
Done your Q Ride stuff yet?
Sound the instructors out about the type of riding you want to do and what's legal to ride.
(Good to see you made it back Marissa.)

my first was a kz650 (or z650 down there.)good bike, not too much power to scare ya but fun as it should be for a new rider.

Go with an older bike so you can learn how to tinker with it as well as ride, it builds appreciation for your machine.

I learned on a Kwaka VN250 .. Big Cruiser for a 250 .. I thought Halrey and Davidson where the only real bikes back then .. It didnt take long and a couple of chats to real riders to realize that was far from the truth 8)

My first was also a Z650 (ex police, full fairing, lightbar etc) bought at auction $800. Probably when I first started ripping bits off bikes! 8^)

Saw Mr Killminster on the Bomber Tour, Ace of Spades Tour,
No sleep 'till Hammersmith Tour and a few others. Top Bloke,
The line-up changed but I always though the Lemmy/Phil and Eddie was by far the best.
Very Raw and Full on.. [8D]
Used to see lots of Bands, Anything from Thin Lizzy to Wasp and P.I.L. but Motorhead was always "The" Band.

F*ck me !!!
Just looked, that was 27 years a go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw them two ears ago and still Lemmy kept asking the Sound engineer to turn it up. I'm deaf and handle a shit load of noise but fuck me, even I was cringing at the sound level. Fucking great! Motorhead still have the record as one of the loudest gigs ever.

Motorhead were hardcore tourers - check out the tour dates - only 3 nights off in a month. Pussy bands of today don't do that anymore.
