Yeah i checked out that page at http://oldskoolsuzuki.info/ but it doesnt state anything about the actually mounts. There is page on the "how to" section on this website but it doesn't mention which R6 model.

The whole rear end is a later project that will probably be a R1 set-up

Check for the length of the shock against yours, also check th type of mounts . the pic is of an 86 gsxr and an r6 will fit but i think an latermodle has different lower mount. Have a look on ebay at the shocks for sale and compare the mounts to yours. Remember an 11 is a bit heaver than a 750 so remember the spring rate. This proberly don't make any sence as its past my bedtime:)

r6 shock has an eye and 90 gsxr has a fork so it wont fit.

Hi spoonman,Rexies info is bang on,im fitting an r6 shock into an 86/87 pre slingy thingy, fits fine with eye to eye fitting.later (slingshot) models use a fork type bottom mount, also mount on l8er models is different as its on the top of the swingarm, not underneath.Ive heard tho that a shock from a Honda cbr 600 will fit slingshots, they used two different types tho with or without remote ressie, made by showa.Worth a look on fleabay, not sure which youd need.also need to research length.Another option may be to rebuild orig. shock, can be done (in uk) for about 120 quid.Hope this helps a bit bro.
