A website has a fighter build competition going on. It just so happens I found the site at the same time I was building the bike so I entered. Ive done WAY WAY more than I ever intended when I started.....but once I started I wanted to upgrade everything lol.

List of what has been done:
Frame cut and welded
Spacers made to fit the ninja swingarm
New lower shock mount fabricated
New subframe braces fabricated for Ducati subframe
Holes welded closed from cutting off the stock subframe brace
Custom plates welded on for the new GSXR rearsets
Gas tank extensions welded to meet the frame
GSX110 Engine swap
Stage 3 jetted carbs with individual filters
GSXR/R1 Hybrid front suspension setup

Look's good dudad. You'll have to keep us posted of your progress.

Modifing a bike is a never ending process, I started by putting a set of mini indicaters on now my bikes a fuel injected turbo.

very cool, ill have to watch the progress. Do you guys have a lot of buildoffs? I havent seen any in the states here that arent choppers. How long do you have to complete it?

Which site?

Hopefully not one I've been banned from. :D

Actually just found the link in Warhounds GSXF thread.

dudad, i never realized how far away the frame and tank are until i saw your pic in warhounds post, WOW.

Yea its a good gap. Thats why I had them weld those extension on and wrap around the back so the seat looks like it sits kind of flush. There will still be a gap between the tank and front of the seat but I dont really care. Im just ready to ride it, Ive been working on it for awhile now.

you going to be done by the deadline?

I have to say there is a lot to inspire me there.. the distance between the tank and the frame .. and the seat always bothered me when it comes to fightering an F .. the tank is bolted to a raiser and the seat locks in there too .. so it all sits WAY above the frame.. The thought crossed my mind to get someone to fabricate extra on to the tank so that it matches the frame .. also giving you more fuel .. but I am sure thats a massive endeavour 8)

Rental property but not single lol. Its our computer room so I threw all the bike parts in it and the motor stays outside. I should make it by the deadline I just may have to do the work on the tank and stuff myself to get it ready for paint. I had a friend who was going to do it but Im short on cash now lol

Mate, considering that ugly frame (it reminds me of a dehydrated camel for some reason) you've done a fucking amazing job. You don't even notice the frame. I like it a lot.

I'd have never believed you could make one of those look good, but that's looking fucking great !
Can't wait for the big finish.

The paint is going to be flat black for now with a gucci style pattern using the background of the website that is holding the fighter buildoff competition.....I may change that up later but for now its simple, cheap and effective :)

and because im a picture WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE :photo2::photo2::photo2:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/93ludensi/bike.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/93ludensi/bike1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/93ludensi/bike3.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/93ludensi/bike4.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/93ludensi/bike5.jpg

And this is how i solved my headlight bracket problem......damn I got REALLY lucky....the holes in the L plate were EXACTLY the same distance apart as the holes in my triple tree where the ignition goes.....then the bending for the bracket attached to the headlight was done by hand with a marker and tape measure.....got it perfect on the 1st try....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/93ludensi/HPIM3478.jpg

You wont see any of that since I am going to try to make a little windscreen to cover it. I also made sure I used locknuts so they couldnt vibrate themselves loose lol

cool man, is that headlight going to point at the road? it looks good in the pic but my first guess is it will point skyward.

dudad
20-05-2007, 10:15 AM
It does point a little high but it lights up the road also. Maybe ill take a vid of it at night sometime.
