Can anyone give a rough idea or what your thoughts would be on the value of some new bikes still in their boxes/crates. I know for certain there is the following but my Dad isn't very familiar with bikes and it wasn't easy to guess what else there is.

RGV250 Lucky Strike edition
01 CR500RE
RG500

I don't know any more particulars, that's all I could decipher. I just know that they are still unpacked and under plastic or cardboard still.

Cheers

Name your own price!
Still crated and untouched all three are collectable.
RGV $12k and up
CR500 $12k and up
RG500 $20K and up.
Go fishing with the big numbers and you might be surprised on what collectors with fat wallets will pay....To you and I that is alot of coin for a bike but realistically its not much to those with coke in their nose.

Add those three prices together and you get $44k. A small price for a collector when you consider the treasure trove. Fuck I'd spend that if I could over and above a piece of shit Holden Hache Es Vee that will only depreciate.

If it comes to the point that they all need to be sold then that's when I'll say. But that decision isn't mine to make.

These 3 are only part of 20ish bikes in total too. I have no idea what else is there.

Albi, very generous of you to be willing to help out. Hahaha!

I'd love to know more too. I remember seeing some of these things collecting dust when I was a kid and was always mesmorised by these sought after things still in their wrapping. I'd love for some them to end up my way but I doubt that happening as well. All I know at the moment is they are a proposed total dollar value on a piece of paper being fought over.

I'd start the RG500 at at least $30,000, a bloke i know sold an immaculate one about 12 months ago with 3,500klms for $28,000. So still in the crate.... cha ching!

You could pretty much name your price on the RG500. Seriously, I can't imagine there would be many in the world still in a crate (or even less that are actually for sale). The RGV would probably be a little less sought after, same with the CR.

But if a collector wanted them, money would probably not be an issue.

get onto raresportsbikesforsale.com i watch it with interest as it often has a lot of special bikes come through its pages and it would also be a good guide for what they are selling for.
I have seen a few bikes come through there still in the crate, one(i can't remember what bike it was) was still in the crate and asking for about 20-30k and they would not open the crate to let you check there was a bike in there until you had paid for it...........

i'd put upward of $60k on the RG500 but only because I'm a cunt and if you want it bad enough you'll pay my price. Start the bidding there and someone with a very fat wallet who earns more in a year than most of us will in the next 10 will fork out the dough just to put it in his hobby room or bar.

As for the rest? dunno. CR's are out of my price range is all I know about them as are RGV's but I never really liked the RGV or the KR1S'. Still if I had the bullion I'd grab a little RGV and send it to the TSS in Cairns to get some lovin and a remodelled moteur installed.

The thing is you can't really put a value on stuff like this because no one else has them for sale. With the RG, the value we are judging it by now is what a low mileage one went for a while ago.

So, if you sold this one for $200K, then that would be the new benchmark for how much a crated one is worth.

See what I mean?

There was a brand new unregistered RG500 for sale in the UK recently at over £12000 sterling, I knew of a guy with a crated Z1, and a crated Katana found in the USA a few years ago went for £10000. Ultimately they are only worth what someone is prepared to pay for them, although some bikes will attract a huge premium like the RG500 Gamma.
