You can get VTR's for $3500 if you look hard enough.

xa-mont
17-10-2011, 08:58 AM
yeah i have seen a few well priced ones around. but of course now my brand loyalty is dragging me to the TLR (and cause i have ALWAYS loved the look and sound of the TLR... and a blue, white and black one would match my leathers :P)

Problem is they seem to be a little more exxy... and i'de probably fall into Gitz mode and not want to fighter such a iconic pimpin' looking bike!

The Hondas a smaller lighter and don't handle like you're riding a waterbed.
Still, they're a dirty Honda. So there's a tradeoff. I still miss mine.

My preference is for the VTR, but that's me. I will get another one soon enough. I really want an SP 1 or 2 to fighter the problem is the dollars everyone wants for them. Drug money I call it - cause you'd have to be on drugs to pay that much for one...

+1 miss my old VTR and will get another at some stage. Set up correct they are capable of keeping up with most others in the twisties not somuch in drag race/top end but wheelies all day
Again would love to fighter an SP one day

2 too many cylinders facing forward for my liking. Needs to be a V something so it sounds pimptacular... cause i can't ride well, so i may as well sound good!

VTR prices are very tempting. and seems my Gix front end will pretty much bolt right up (need new top bearing and that's it) and they do sound pretty horn... WHAT TO DO!!!?!?! GARRRR?!?!?!

Gitzy

Lol pimptacular.. my TL doesn't sound pimptacular cos its too busy sounding Yoshtastic..

yeah maybe i do.... and the brushed look on the frame has me thinking i could rock a bit of a brushed alloy theme to it... I have sent some enquires about some down here in vic (so hopefully i can get one with RWC/rego and save the fuck around)

My VTR:

3 months later:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/mintbread1/mypic32.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/mintbread1/mainpic.jpg
Look closely and you may see the key snapped off in the ignition due to the impact with a car...

The replacement TL:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/mintbread1/scan.jpg

Broken frame, snatchy throttle & very heavy.

I would take the VTR in a heartbeat.

if it's the same as my vfr8, it's the top bearing for a yamaha srx 400.

hmmm... a little less engine-ey than i wanted...

it would seem that an Aprilia RSV1000 Mille might be an option as well if one comes up cheap enough.

That's on the WOVR list. So add about $500 minimum and a stack of pissing around (or forget about it if you're in NSW).

Trav, there's an Aprilia RSV mille at the same bloke as the VFR you saw. It hadn't arrived yet when I was there, but it should be a repairable write-off. I'm interested in going to see it for myself as well. Let me knwo when u have time and we'll go take a look. 2 sets of eyes are better tan 1
