Okay
so have decided to mod a YZF750 belly pan for the Vmax.
I have done the first cuts and things are looking good
BUT........
The belly pan sits very close to the exhausts.
I was wondering if anybody had any idea on what to use for heat shielding and where to get it from?

you can use the header wrap stuff that a lot of people use. might not suit the look of the max... the best looking option would be ceramic coating as it keeps exhaust temps right down and looks sweet!

Actually I was thinking more of something to go on the inside of the belly pan as opposed to something on the pipe
The belly pan I'm using had a small amount of sefl adhesive foam where it passed near the original pipe routing and this was the stuff I was thinking off

this kind of stuff would probably do the trick

That looks like just the job
Now I need to make the mount brackets to see where the thing touches/gets close and then work out where and how much of this stuff needs to be bought
thanks for that mate

you'll probably find that if it's actually touching, it'll still burn the plastic. i had a similar issue with the zxr fairing i had. try and get an air gap, even if it's only a couple mm.

shiny stainless reflects heat very well as long as there is a gap.

Hi Guys,
thanks for all the feedback.
I will post some pictures once the shielding is in place and the belly pan mounted
