I thought you got orange peel from not sanding in-between coats

Not to mention that they are 2 different tanks going by the pics

same tank yes its peely different light only ,its a cheapy for a guy who claims to be broke, only charged him $100 as he through it up the road on a ride with a few of us about a month ago
nah orange peel is caused by laying the paint on to thick to fast,,i sort of just smashed it on ,

The pics are dodgy because he takes it inside the shed everytime. The camera is then forced into low light mode which pixelates it and then on top of that you need to hold it dead still, which I guess a bouron fuelled Pete is not that good at. Take the stuff outside next time Pete and we'll see if I'm right or we award you the "ASF's worst photographer" award :)

well pete i dont agree with you there mate as new cars come with a grade of orange peel from the factory !! its part of the curing process ? isint it ?? thats why when you paint with COB you cut it back with 2000 odd grit to get a flat finish!!

when i did my tls with the COB blue i had marginal orange peel untill i cleared coated it and cut it back now its goneeeeeeee

no it all comes down to air pressure and gun settings ,i tend to put peel on older bikes, its just a habit,,i use de,beers products ,there pretty good ,i find the only way to fuck it up is to cure it too fast ,thats when you get solvent boil,,other then that i never cut back paint ,maybe use my tuns-ton,,for a little bit of de-nibbing thats about it,plus when i worked for a bus building firm ,up here, they used to encourage us to spray the buses with peel ,,go figure ,lol

Its always a fkn hard read...and even worse when you've had a couple!!

If you've just smashed the paint on the honda tank,i dont get why you'd bother posting up a pic of a shit job???
