I think we already knew the results and could have saved them the trouble of doing the research, but it's worth a read anyway.

Very interesting to see the DFT actually acknowledge that most bike accidents are down to other road users not seeing a bike.

It isnt a question of how long ppl look or which observation methods they use. Its a psychological process that other road users do not look for a "bike", they are looking for cars. Wearing dayglo jackets and having permanent headlights makes no difference when they arent looking for a bike.

Stuff we have always known. But thanks mate its the first time I've ever seen any fairly intelligent, objective and factual info from the DFT. ;)
