Don't have a plan or a destination, prob go inland a bit and open to idea's. Stay in a country pub somewhere.
Drink some beers, have a sleep, then find some more roads and come back Sunday arvo.

Meet BP, Warton Road, Huntingdale, 9am Saturday and leave 9.30.

Anyone interested ?

Well sorry, I was too late in posting my change in status when I got home on Friday night and ended up doing the run on my own.
While it's great going with your mates, I still love a solo run so it didn;t bother me too much.

Just after 9am, I set the brain in neutral and cruised down the freeway
I'd covered about 120 or so k's till I saw the turn off for Brunswick Junction, decided at the last second that I'd had enough of the freeway and took off up the turn off and cranked across to the South West Highway, then off towards Collie.

I almost made it there when I saw a sign for Wellington Dam and decided to go suss it out.
I turned into Cotts Gorge (I think) and found a shit hot area for swimming !
Guess where I'll be stopping on the next run south when it's hot?

I carried on and had a look at the dam itself, it was pretty full.

After that, rather than do a u-turn, I decided to see where the road took me.
I ended up on a dirt road which was all pea gravel for a while and was so engrossed in my efforts to channel Jay Springsteen that I almost missed the scenery!
So I stopped for a quick slash and photo opportunity.

I ended up coming into Collie the back way, fuelled up and headed for Bridgetown via Boyup Brook as I normally do.
Nice scenery this time of year.

From Bridgetown, I cut across to Nannup for a late lunch, this road needs to be on your to do list if you go down the South West for sure!
From Nannup, I headed off to Balingup.
The Nannup - Balingup road is a fkn cracker, but you have to keep your wits about you, it's narrow and there's lots of blind corners and crests with cars hiding behind them.
From Balingup, it was off to Bunbury to meet with Vicki for the night stop and a welcome spa.

Sunday morning, I headed to Capel, then cut through to Donnybrook on Morry's recommendation. It was a good fun road, pretty fast in spots. The only spoiler was flying through a massive trail of cow shit where the dairy cows cross the road daily.
From Donnybrook, I decided that I would revist the Balingup - Nannup - Bridgetown loop again as it was fkn great fun ...

You can tell it was going to be a fun ride because....

From Bridgetown, I headed back through Boyup Brook and turned off at a cafe onto a back road to Dardanup that was recommended by a guy at the Collie servo on the way down.
That turned out to be a great ride as well, a little bumpy in spots but mostly good fun.

After Dardanup and lunch, I headed up South West Highway, I ended up following a bunch of sports tourers who turned off towards the coast, then we turned onto a road that ran parrallel with the SW Highway and being deserted, ended up in a 150-160kph train all the way till the road ended at the turn off to Yarloop. Dunno how far it was but it was fun !

Then it was pretty much highway all the way to Waroona where I turned off and headed to Dwello by the usual route. At this time I was a bit rooted so took it relatively easy.

I got home about 4pm, generally fucked and the bike is covered in bugs and cow shit.

Unlike poor old Billywhizz, I didn't see a single copper the whole weekend !! Which was lucky because I was pretty much on the wrong side of the limit all weekend.

Cheers
