Noob needs lotsa advice

Here in South Africa the summer is on the way, and it is time for a new project.
I have decided I want to try my hand at building a streetfighter, well 2 because the wife wants one as well.

Donor bike: 1994 Suzuki GS500

Frame - Powdercoated bright nickel.
All paint - Satin black
Touch of purple paint at places
Headlight - KTM990
Indicators - LED (double as running lights, and on back brake lights as well.
Vapor trail dashboard

As for pipes, black or purple stainless steel braided hoses.

Engine, black, and nickle.

Very basic details as there is a ton of planning, googling and reading before I can start.

The bike is 1600km away from me at the moment, and I will only collect in in December, so I have time to plan a big part of the project.

Any advice appreciated.
