WTB: Time for another fighter also - $4k budget

Hi gents,
very long time, no-see.

After my ZX12r fighter died, i bought a writte-off '04 Daytona 955i and restored that to full-faired perfection. Anyway, i want another roadbike, a fighter because theyre just cool! But nothing as mental as a ZX12r (600-900cc would be nice).

Looking to spend upto $4k for something and then add / paint / modify it to my taste.

Anyone know of anything going around? Im in Clayton (Melbourne), but im willing to travel a few hundred km's for the right rig.

Is a gsxr 711 too mental?
i've got a mate who has to go back to Denmark, and has a 711 to get rid of, and wants $4K. NSW rego until feb. My old frame, so R1 seat and sub frame, engineering cert for the bigger engine, flatslide carbs, Dyna 2000 ignition,30,000ks since a rebuild. Also comes with my old engine, which had about 25,000 ks since a rebuild with an 1196cc JE big bore. Looks a bit rough with a rattle can black paint job, but goes like a big gixxer should. When he emails me some pics, I'll start a new topic.

Hooligan, the Gix 7/11 is actually my wet-dream favourite oldschool fighter! Id definitly appreciate more info on that, but also if anyone is aware of any cool V-Twins going that would also be good. ELAPID's TRX850 Looks like an interesting starting point, but i wouldn't mind seeing updated pics of it if anyone knows him personally.

Thanks for the consideration blokes, i would love a V-twin as i've never had one and would love to try one out!

I have a bog standard YZF750 just begging to have the fighter treatment drop me a PM and I'll send you some pics.
Good nick low kms and standard.
can't do it myself as I am mid fighter project for a vmax and need some funds to finish the project hence selling the yzf.

get a v4 (or a YZF750 with NSW plates :))
