Preferably in good condition and registered. It's going to be my everyday/commuter so I don't want something that has issues or needs much work.

If anyone knows of one for sale, give me a shout.

I'm pretty sure the Cops never had Hayabusas.

Prolly easier to get a silver one.

You might get a 2000/2001/later model as cheap or cheaper.
The Copper/Silver was the original 99 model and the colours
are liked by many. They are unrestricted, have the higher
speeds on the clock face and are getting collectable.

Stuff like an 04 model has a stronger subframe, better ECU etc.

You'll limit yourself if you only want a certain colour / year
and dont go for the better, cheaper bikes that may be about.

Yeah i'm a bit torn between getting the '99 copper/silver as it's been my dream bike forever (since '99 :P) or getting a cheaper/better-condition/later model and maybe just respraying it. I've just always sworn when I had the cash i'd get an original copper/silver one.

I'll see what pops up I guess.

Damn, nice. Auction finishes tomorrow though (no time to arrange to get it checked out or whatever), if it doesn't sell, i'll text/call him and ask for a flat price and see if someone up that way can check it out for me.

Texted him :)

Will see if someone snaps it up on the auction, if it's still available after, i'll try get it checked out. High k's don't bother me if it still runs ok to commute on for now, can get the motor rebuilt later (maybe with a bit of boost :P)

Replied quick, saying he won't tell me a price I have to make an offer. I hate making offers. It's such a stupid way to do things, just tell me what you want ffs [xx(]

i know wat you meen mate my old man wont buy anything like that , iwent with him to look at a car 15 yrs ago we walked in and he said to salesidiot im after a commodore ute what do you have ??

he replied how you want to spend??

my old man turned away and walked out!
i asked him why did you do that, the ol boy said "its his job to sell me the best best car he has got to offer and to try and make money,im not here to do his job!! fair enough i thought, look at it this way he said if he asked me what i wanted in the ute "ie v6-v8,auto manuel, colour etc he would have worked out what he had and told me all i have is the white v6 auto with canopy for $10,000 or the v8 maloo manuael for $18999 knowing my old man he was going to look at the maloo, he did the same with his house went to real estate in dapto and said he wanted a double brick double garage, ducted air, no less than 5yrs old 4 bedroom, wat do you have the chick said how much do you want to spend ,?? yep he walked out went next door and asked the same question and was offerd 3 houses and one was new off the plan in horsley formaly west dapto and was told the prices ? he went for the new house.

Yeah totally agree mate, I can't be bothered dealing with stuff like that, when you sell something you know how much you want, so just tell people. It's wasting my time to make me dance around the fucking offers until he's finally happy. Not giving at least a starting/rough price of what you want is just doggy.

I think i'll just keep looking :p

That guy sells a lot of bikes on eBay (don't know if that really makes any difference, but just so you know).

And for what it's worth, I've heard it said from a few people in the know that the Busa's don't loosen up and make real power until they've done 100,000 k's.

They auction them because the dealers offer so little on hi km bikes,
one of the busa club members nearly got to 200,000 on his before it was cleaned up , still going strong right up to the last .
the runnig gear probably shows its age more than the motor , at 100kph there only doing ~3200rpm , and not many realy flog them to the limits ,

That's good to know. I'd heard they're good to pretty high kms but 100k kms still scares me [B)] Just not used to seeing numbers that high on a bike! Will check it out though.
