Can anyone give me a contact for lowering and recovering bike seats properly ( In Vic preferably)??
The wife has just bought a '94 ZZR6 and needs to lose about 30-40mm out of the seat...(she's almost 5' if she jumps up and down :D)

You can also put longer links in the suspension, the 2 flat straps either side of the shock lower pivot,13mm longer will be~25mm lower at the seat,

I think Vespa have a 'cut down seat' that'd work mate :D

Carefully remove (unstaple) the original cover then use an electric carving knife to remove the bulk of seat foam & when you have it at the right height, smooth it off & round the corners with a really course wood rasp. Take the modified seat & the original cover to a trimmer & get it stapled back on for $10. I've done a few road & offroad seats for friends over the years & it's the easiest & cheapest way for girlies to touch the ground.

Thanks for the replies folks,
Booster-I have always wondered how this affects the ride...Bottoming out etc ? [?]
Turbokat- Done the same meself mate but as we are talking about 40mm out of the seat I dunno if the cover would stretch that much.:)
And as for you Chalk10...go wash your mouth out with soap [:p]

Changes the headstem angle a little, not much of a problem when lowering but can get fidgity if raised much.
If your misses rides hard there will be less ground clearance and the stand may need to be modified (depends how far you drop the ride height)
Did a friends 98 zx6 and droped the forks thru the clamps a little too(13mm), She recons its great, flat footed is much safer than tip toe
