I've fitted a new upper triple to my bike which requires rethinking how I'm going to mount the gauges. I was wondering if anyone here had some photos of their gauges that might give me some ideas as to how I'm going to fabricate some type of bracket to mount mine.

The triple is from LSL if that makes a difference. Personally I'm not that crazy about the design. The risers and bar are fastened down to the triple with the riser clamps. As opposed to bolting separately to the triple. This doesn't seem like the most stable design, but I'll give it a shot..

Thanks
Ian

A photo of what you got and how it is at the moment may spawn some useful ideas Ian

Sorry about that. It's an SV1000s converted to it's more 'natural' naked state. No photos at the moment of my bike, but I do have some from the Spiegler site.

Here's the kit I purchases:

It looks far better without all that hideous plastic of course and much better with the dual headlights I've installed. I'd like to use the stock gauges and I'm not much of a fabricator, but wanted to make something that didn't look too amatuerish.

That gives me some very good ideas. I hadn't even thought of mounting it using the ignition screws.

Thanks.

I made a bracket for my original dials before switching to a digital setup. I used the bolts from the risers to mount them:

No where near as flashy as Cruisecontrols, but suitable till something better comes along lol...

I made up a couple of "L" backets from stainless steel that bolt to the standard head light brackets, couldnt hve been easier.

This looks like something I was considering. Either mounting some brackets to the headlight mounts or possibly the upper triple pinch bolts. Is your setup pretty stable, or does the gauge shake or vibrate much?

The brackets do not move as they are mounted using the 2 headlight bolts on either side so its very solid but the instruments move a little bit on their rubber mounts at the rear but they do that on the naked model,so I siliconed a small piece of rubber between the instruments and the t clamp to stop that .Maybe you should have bought the standard Suzuki N model T clamp and risers as the gauges bolt directly underneath the clamp .Let us know how you get on.

The N and S models have different offsets...quite different actually. The S model has more aggressive geometry, and while I could have adjusted the N model to suit my needs, I preferred the way the S model handles right out of the box. I was actually surprised to learn just how nice this thing handles without any adjustments. I was running some decent times on this bike at a local track without turning a knob. Once the suspension is redone this bike will be a respectable track day toy and a terror on the street.

Besides, I got such a smokin' deal on a used S model that I couldn't pass it up. These bikes are seriously undervalued here in the US. Everyone here wants GIXR1CBRZX1000's covered in hideous plastic. What can I say, we have little taste. ;)
