Hey guys, picked up an 02 KTM 250EXC 2 Stroke the other day, and i'm on a mission to get the lighting and wiring up to scratch (While cleaning the rest of it up)
Now my issue is, to test the wiring, i have to have the bike running due to it running off a lighting coil and not a battery (which isn't ideal atm).
Is there any way while the bike is sitting in pieces I can connect a 12v battery/power source into the wiring and check over all my lighting/switches. I can't completely wrap my head around where it would fit in.

Here is a wiring diagram for it:

Thanks in advance

You should be able to plug a battery in place of the capacitor and test away (it's essentially the battery in this set-up).

You might want to unplug the CDI unit just in case though.

I agree with hillsy on that one that would have been my choice

Hey Rod, nothing caught fire, but could only get my blinkers to work. No taillight or headlight. Doing the wire trace atm. Had a talk with my local KTM about it and he's given me some ideas at what it could be.
And Hillsy, no visit to the ICU please, too many work colleagues there.
