Just reading Jarrod's tatt thread, and didnt want to
hijack it. Never really been a dog owner, but seemed
to have ended up with this.......

A bit hyper but might be handy to have around the shed
when there's no one at home.

In "non-hyper" mode.

Jarrod and Jacktar mentioned their's,
I know Russ/Sharky has a couple,
Any Pic's ? What anyone else got ?

I've got a Harlequin Great Dane, he's a rescue who has been with me since he was 22 months old, I'm his 4th owner including the rescue, he's been with me for 4 years now (with the exception of 6 or 7 weeks when I had to fight my ex missus to get him back after we split), and will be 6 years old in August.
My previous Great Dane was a Blue called Ash, he was another rescue he was 4 years old when he came to me and he was 10 1/2 years old when I had to say goodbye to him as his back legs had gone down hill too far. He appeared in Streetfighters magazine with my Kawasaki feature, the mag came out the day after I lost him. Monty my daft black and white Dane came along 1 month later, within 5 minutes of meeting him at the rescue centre he'd pinched my bike jacket and was trotting around the yard with it all pleased with himself, then stood up and put his paws on my shoulders and gave me a slobbery kiss, and chose me really.
He spends all day at work with me, and has his own sofa in the workshop, and greets all my customers when they turn up. He weighs 12 stone, which is 3.5 stone more than me, and when he stands up on his hind legs he can rest his chin on my head, as I'm only five foot tall. There's something about Danes, the writers of Scooby Doo got the character spot on, real comedians.

Thanks Gitzy, that's brilliant. When the Streetfighters issue came out one of my mates rang me to tell me the bike was in, and I just said to him "sod the bike is Ash in there?" I was chuffed to bits when I saw the picture in the mag. The pic of Monty and the MadCow was taken just after I'd MOTd the bike, the legs in the pic belong to my mate Paul who built my dyno truck. The MadCow is currently in bits as I'm building a new 1170cc motor as the J motor had a slightly twisted crank. I've also ditched the clip ons and fitted GSXR1000K4 lower yoke and stem with an ABM yoke conversion and Renthal superbike bars, the K series stem is just long enough and accepts the Zed bearings without having to change anything. I'm now looking for a Z900/Z1000 round tank for sensible money instead of the Z1R small tank.
The picture of Monty standing with his paws on my shoulders is when he pinches my wooly hat off my head and buggers off down the yard with it, I lose a lot of hats through the year, as he likes to shred them or drop them in puddles before I can get it back.
I really want to get hold of a bike and sidecar to see if Monty will go in it, he loves going by car with his head out of the window, and I reckon he'd love a sidecar with some goggles and a biggles helmet and his ears sticking out of it.
Thanks again Gitzy for finding them.

This is my Dog Missy. I got her from a shelter and she was knocked up at the time. I had no idea about that, but wasn't upset.

She was the most loyal dog and showed me a lot of love before I had to leave her in Townsville rather than bring her south to Toowoomba because she was old fat and arthritic.

The pics are her sleeping on my pillow after a hard night doing Overnight Express freight for Ipec. We were about an hour from home when I heard her snoring and couldn't resist the photo opportunity.

your spot on Tony its a 'blue heeler' or 'australian cattle dog', Mainly but it appears the markings around the face points to it having a little Kelpie in it.

Here's my Two The first a pure bred ex show red cattle dog or 'red heeler' bitch cranky old cunt (with other dogs) near blind but loves people, saved her from mate who had her on his farm as a breeder and was going to shoot her as she was past her best days. The second is a male bitsa mainly red Heeler with a bit of ? found wandering the streets of Loganholme I got him from the Animal welfare league and a more friendly big boofhead you couldnt find. Both are fantastic with the kids and protect them but never trust any dog implicitly around kids ;O)

She's in seriously good condition because one of the girls who lives here runs her 5ks a day.

Then I get to look after her and give her chips and whatever crap I'm eating.

In the last pic she's got some duck tape on her arse and is having trouble working out whether to scratch or lick it off.

Monty weighs in at 86kgs which is 12 stone in proper money, and is 36 inches to the shoulder which isn't that tall for a Dane it's about average. Your two look like great dogs, I'm glad someone else is into Danes they're brilliant dogs.

http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss188/bluecrow7/randoms/DSC01116.jpg

Had GSD when we were kids but in the 80's most of them died due to heart conditions and hip displacement - fucking breeders! Last one was Blitzen, 00 hip score, Shadow police dog parents, pedigree as long as your arm - put down by age 6 cos of arthritis. I'd love a GSD but can't afford anymore pets at the mo.

My auntie runs a rescue in Greece www.desperategreekies.com she runs a neuter program for cats and dogs but most of the time has to release them back to the street but at least the breeding cycle is broken. Some are rehomed, got lots of good stories. Spends all her own money too, very little donations, she always has been in animal welfare, used to knock out abusers and take their animals.

My new Cattle dog thinks he's a bit tough/brave.
Happy to stand up to every dog he meets,
won't let tradies into the yard, normal dog stuff.

Had him in the back of a Ford Territory, his normal spot.
Put it through the car wash, he freaked !!
Came over into the back seat, then over into the front,
ended up almost on my lap, frightened to f*ck!

Happy to walk between by Busa and Bandit, both running,
with open Yoshi pipes, doesnt blink an eye.

got there and could not believe the size of the bloody monster of a dog
60+kg of muscle, friendly as all hell but worried it might lean against my house and crush it!!!!

so anyways, talking to the guy and there is another dog wandering around
real nice young male dog, turns out to be a 2yr old kelpie X rotty (he thinks)
so we took William home and he's currently running security of the yard

took him to the vet and he got a clean bill of health + vaccines, booked him in for the snip in a couple of weeks time
i cant believe how lucky we are, he's the perfect dog
followed me all around the backyard today as i did stuff, responds to his name quickly, doesnt run around like a dickhead for no fucking reason, has a nice mean sounding bark he uses when something worries him

chuffed!!!

Good looking dog there Fimp, sounds like the Rotty in him has taken the craziness of the Kelpie's out of him. Top stuff.
