Hi guys

What causes the revs to 'hang up' on decel (closed throttle)
They eventually drop back to the desired idle speed but not as quick as they should

Carbs have just been completely stripped and cleaned and balanced giving a huge improvement but although the hanging issue has improved it is still there

What to check next?

Usually Vaccuum leaks or sticky butterflies - Shano's?

Assuming that you've already checked for air leaks around the manifolds, try going one or two turns richer on your mixture screws.

If this helps the problem, you may need to go one size larger on the pilot jets.

Also, spray lots of lube around all of your butterfly shaft bushes and linkages.

Too lean on idle mixture can cause throttle to hang

Possably small Lip on inside carbs or slides ? I found one carb out of 4 on rf was worn enough to just catch slide and stop it going home every time. Used to do same thing but only when it felt like it , blip on throttle used to settle it sometimes. Took weeks to find.

If that Brian's bike it needs a full balance and tune and a good chance of what Dazza said.
I have all the gear to sort it out and am just down the road.

Already balanced them and 1 carb was way out. Made a big difference but it still isn't perfect.

inlet manifold leak, air screws may need to come out half to a turn, badly fitted diaphragm, need to find that then re balance.
