It tends to slip in the higher rev range when well under the hammer with the twist grip wide open, or at least I think that's what is happening as I'm pretty sure it's not the back tyre going.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

I think it's time for a new one or at the very least new springs for it.

Oh and the bike is a 2002 XJR1300 if that helps?

What oil are you running? Change the brand first and see if that helps (easiest / cheapest option first). If it still slips, then dig deeper.

Cheers for the both of you. I was hoping it wasn't going to be needing it, but I guess we don't always get what we want. Hillsy I don't know what Oil it has in it currently I picked it up 3 weeks ago.

Not to worry I'll get new plates and drop some heavy duty springs into the fucker. That should sort it out nicely.

First I'd change the oil with the proper grade stuff just in case it has friction modified (car) oil in it.

Not uncommon for someone to buy car oil on special at SuperCheap and think it will be OK in a bike.
