Howdy,

Bandit brakes aren`t good(IMO),So thought about trying different OEM pads. 99-07 Busa are the same caliper as 01-05 Bandit, and have different Part No: pads then the Bandit, which may mean a different compound, So does anyone know the answer to that one? If so i may try this for more stick. I`ve done the sinted thing on OEM discs and have only succeded in gouging the fuck out of the discs. I`ve just bought some OEM discs from the US which are in very good nick, and were cheap,(if anyone knows the price on OEM,you know you have to take out a bank loan typically)so thats why i got them. Another one i`m trying to figure out is 01-02 GSXR, are they the same caliper? i`ve looked up parts No: and not only are they a different No: they look different, but local suzi dealer`s trying to tell me they`re the same caliper, but different pad No: than both Busa and Bandit, which means maybe a different compound again.
Anybody know what i`m` talking about?

Thanks for listening,

John.

I thought the 01-02 GSXR were 4 pot calipers not 6's like the bandit. Therefore diff pad!
I take it u'v done the braided brake lines as well mate? We did that to my bro-inlaws bandit n it helped heaps!

Yeah done braid,to be honest,i didn`t notice any diff at all with that done. 01-02 GSXR are 6 pot. I`ve tried to do as much research as i can, but when it comes to specific compounds,i can`t find any literature on the subject, only assume.

Hey John

2000-2003 GSXR 600/750 have 64mm Mounting Holes
2001-2002 GSXR 1000 also have 64mm Mounting Holes

So no good there as they won't fit

Both Tokico..

The Bandit 12 & Hayabusa and most other Jap Nissin/Tokico's have 90mm Spaced Mounting Holes.. They just vary throughout the generations in Brand and Piston sizes also interior coatings ie TLR1000 Has 6 pot Steel Lined Pistons where as the Identical 97-07 Hayabusa has 6 pot Lighter Alloy Pistons and a different coating also there gold..

Another example from GEN1 B12/GSXR1100 vs TLS

Thanks for that,I got my info from PARTSHARK in the States and it showed a 6 pot for 01-02 gsxr. At least i now know i can`t use those pads,so might look at Busa pads for different compound.
Thanks all again.
