Hey peeps I just got word that timbo got admitted to hossie last night with swelling that bad in his throat that he was having trouble breathing ...they thought that he had tonsillitis but he had them removed 30 years ago (he is old) so that's about all I know at this stage I will keep you posted

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, I am getting better now but for a few days it was not cool at all.
I woke up on Monday morning with a bit of a sore throat so i didnt think too much about it. By about 11am i was in so much pain it was beyond a joke so off to casualty we go only to sit there for about 4 hours. When i finally got to see a doctor he had a quick look at my throat and said it was a viral infection and that there was not much he could do and a couple of Panadol should help with the pain.SO off home i go not feeling any better and a little annoyed that they couldn't do much for the pain. Later that night at about 1 am after about 20 min sleep i was in even more pain and thought fuckit i need to do something about this so back to the hospital i go only to be told pretty much the same thing even after pleading for some pain releif they sent me home again and said that if it gets any worse i should come back.So home i go still in a lot of pain and really not to happy. Then at 7am Back to Casualty i go this time they finally gave me some Panadine Fortes to try and they really didnt do to much. By this stage I hadn't had anything to eat or drink so i was feeling very drained so i want to bed to try and get some sleep.Hoping that when i woke up i realized that it was all a bad dream and i was brand new but no this was not the case. When i woke at 4:00pm me throat was so swollen that i was having trouble breathing so you guessed it back to hospital we go. Finally this time i get addmited i get a iv drip to replace all the fluids i had missed out on they also started me on a course of antibiotics but best of all i finally got some Morphine for the pain. The next morning i woke only to be told that they need my bed so they put me into a chair in the hallway for the day and what fun that was. but the time of that everning came aroud i was then told that i was fifth in line for a bed that night with eveyone infront of me beeing over ninty years old.now that i could take my meds orally it was decided that i could go home. got home at about 5:00 pm and have been sleeping for most of the time since. Still fairly sore but things are looking up.Once again thanks for the well wishes

Next time you feel "ill" go to ED and say you've got chest pains and you'll be seen by a medic MUCH quicker. A bit of a stagger and fall in to the lap of the triage nurse and she'll freak so much the medics will come running.
