Hey guys I was just wanting to know what everyones thoughts were on that plastic bit of shit that sits on top of the motor it looks like some sort of wind deflector or something it's on my ZX6 .....can I fuck it off or does it need to be there

Mine on the 7 is in about 70 million bits at the moment was wondering about the same,
I think it is a heat guard guessing it would be best to be inplace

If it's the same thing that's on my ZX9, it's a "seal" to stop the exhaust header heat rising up under the tank and (potentially) melting the wiring up there.
Just ditch it.

get rid of it mate, just a heat thing, i tore mine on one of my zx's(cant remember which), and it hasnt exploded yet, so must be ok

made one up for yella on the weekend out of 2mm alloy cut to shape bit of rubber on edges so it wouldnt cut anything bolted it on all is good didnt take to long either.

Yep, After looking at the hole mine left after I broke it I think it needs to be in place helps to keep all the wires and HT leads up and away from the radiator exhaust etc.
