Took out out the engine as well, the black paint came off due to corrosion, decided to blast it to get the old school look.
BTW it is a GPZ750 engine fitted with big bore 810cc kit with to max ported head and special cams.

Took apart some parts of the engine.
One problem i had is that it jumps out of 2nd gear after turning back the throttle after full acceleration.
Removed the lid on the side and encountered this.

This might be causing it, i'm trying to glue it!!!!
Did some research (Google) and found that 2 compound PU glue should do the trick, lets find out!!!!

Always wanted a bigger oil cooler, but there is no room between forks and engine.
A have seen a racer where is was mounted instead of the head light, lets combine it!!

Yesterday also found some time to mount the dash.
Made a aluminium bracket, not quite statisfied with the finish yet, but this should be it!
Bought from Koso the RX1N on Marketplace with wiringloom, nice small dash stacked with options.

Thanks, really nice SF scene in Australia.
How about the specs to be road legal overthere, cause in the Netherlands there isn't much regulated for bikes yet.

nice build mate.
don't know about the regulations in oz
but here in ireland there are none
we don't even have to get them tested.
More bike and car regulations in Oz than you can poke 2 sticks at and it changes from state to state. Problem is the transport departments so called engineers aren't really sure whats legal most of the time. Seems like they make up the rules of the game and then change the goal posts to suit themselves. The cops are even worse as they know fuck all but if it looks modified it must be illegal and worth a ticket. Not all doom and gloom here though, great weather for bikes and plenty of open roads. Lived in the UK years ago, rode motorbikes all year round and I aint going back.

looking sweet mate,
i considered turning my gauges like that around at night-time
bright enough to be a headlight LOL
the rear wheel with the single-sider looks sick IMO

In the Netherlands the things that are regulated are the wheelbase (+/- 6cm), color and E certification on headlight en off course NOISE.
Got this info from a friend who worked at DOT, don't know if its valid anymore, let alone that the law enforcers have this knowledge.
Nice work [8D]
The Z650 always was a sweet little mill :)

any reason why your forks dont travel up to the top of your triples ,looks a little dangerous,,i dont think the top triple could hold on to the fork,,just my 2 cents worth,
Hey Boet, great to see another z650 :-) bike is looking sweet.

Hi revheadpete.
The adjustment thingies will hit the bottom of the steeringbar and i'm unable to adjust the damping. The yoke is 4 cm thick and the fork itself is inserted for 3.25 cm, if have seen thinner yokes so i think its more than safe enough. I have to agree that the picture shows some reason for concern though.....

I'm already driving 2 days and he did behave very well, changed clutch lever and fitted the turn signals. But front tyre is gone, rubber didn't survive 10 years of neglegance, so need new one.
