Morning all,

OK, I have a GSX1400 K3. I can pick up a set of GSXR1000 forks on ebay pretty cheap - so no worries there. But, where my problem lies is;
1). How the fluck do I mount them to the 1400 head-stem?
2). Does anyone know of who can manufacture upper and lower tripples?
3). Has anyone done this?

All feedback, advice and assistance will be greatly appreciated.....:)

Have a great weekend all.

Easiest solution would be to supply your stem to someone like Ben and get him to make you up a fully custom set of Triples for your bike while you're at it. That's what I did: http://www.extremecreations.com.au/products.asp?view=triples

The cheaper way would be to source some Gixer triples and press your stem into the lower one if the gixer stem is the wrong size.

Have you compared the GSXR stem to the GSX1400 item ? there is a possibility they might be the same. (The GSXR has the same stem layout as the TL1000 so they bolt straight on to that bike.

Some info fwiw.

In general the GSXR1000 frontend is easier to use as a complete unit since the fork spacing at the triple clamps is 207mm.
Fork spacing on the Hayabusa (Ugly triple clamps) SRAD (96 to 98 GSXR/TL1000 is 214mm.
The upper fork OD on both the GSXR (After 2000) and TL/Busa/SRAD is 50mm,the catch is the lower OD on the GSXR1000 fork is 54mm,55mm on the other's.
I believe the caliper mount centres on the GSX1400 is 90mm? which is the same as the SRAD/Busa/TL.
On the GSXR1000 (and Suzuki conventional caliper USD forks from 2000)the caliper mounting centres went to 64mm.
The front fender/mudguard is not interchangable between the those bikes in that the TL/SRAD are the same 4 bolt mount, the Busa has a different mount and the GSXR1000 different again with a 6 bolt mount.
I am going to say the GSX1400 wheel and rotor spacing is the same a the TL/Busa due to sharing the round hole at the outer of the spoke.
The GSXR wheel from around 2000 (oblong hole at the spoke outer) has a slightly narrower width at the hub including around 2mm difference in rotor spacing s othere can be small hitchs when trying to mix parts.
Nothing major but something to be aware of if putting an older style wheel into GSXR forks at the 207mm spacing.

The TL1000 fork is around 235mm from the axle centre to the upper face of the cap,the TLR fork around 12mm shorter 2001/2002 GSXR1000 forks similar length to the TLR.
If it is any help i can measure up the GSXR stem/triple for comparision to the GSX1400,you never know your luck but for sure the springs will be to soft..Can't remember what the GSXR is but i run 1kg/mm Racetech springs in the 2002 GSXR forks on my TLS.TLR are around .95mm stock and TLS .85mm stock.
