Hey my K&N pods are a bit faded and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with dyeing them back to their original colour. Could you just use clothing dye in low quantities to get aout a bit of colour. Cant imagine it being too restrictive. ANy ideas?

Probably get a more permanent result with red ink. Maybe use a trigger spray bottle to mist the dye over them as opposed to dunking them in it.

Opportunity to color match them to the bike mate

So no restrictive effects then?

A liquid dye (IE clothing / fabric dye) shouldn't have any restrictive effects as it will simply im-bed into the fibres. You'll probably have to soak them to get a decent effect - then rinse out the residue and dry.

The red colour is in the oil on the filter, the filter itself is white cotton.Just get a K&N filter cleaning kit, there about 30 bucks from bike shops or auto parts stores. The K&N oil (in the kit) that you spray on has a red dye in it so they'll look like new.......& they'll be clean too.:)
