Need a set of twin pod filters for my 88' GSXR750 engined chopper . No whether in Sydney seems to have them. They need to be able to stretch over an oval mouth 62mm x 58mm . Need these for the Chopper Underground Bike Build Off as it finishes in 8 days. Anyone help on this?

Try Z-Power Chopa. I got a set from them for my GPz9 last year, delivered in a couple of days. They have a range of sizes in stock, and they're in Sydney. Cost about $130 delivered to CBR. They are Emgo brand and seem to work well.

Just been on their site, and they are now in wollongong. If you search for 'air filter' a range of them come up. If you call with the size you need they'll let you know there and then if they have them in stock.

Well, Rockets won't deal this the public but their local agent, Eastern Creek Wreckers does and I'd already called them this morning with no luck. Mladin's shop closed a while ago(I went there this morning) but there warehouse still is open-but they don't deal with the public and no longer stock filters anyway. Z-Power is getting me a set of Emgo filters in for next week so i'm sweet. I've known Allan for along time and he is a truly helpful bloke that is going the extra mile to help me meet my deadline.

I got mine through Rocket as well, but that's because I'm ASF. Didn't realise at the time about business only.

If the motor is before 96' Rocket don't want to know you. That simple. I was un-impressed by them to say the least. Would have preferred a K&N but it's that late in the game that I have to take what I can that looks good. As for photo's, here's a couple that were taken today. The paint & pin striping is by Neo Dutch . Neo Dutch is doing my tank, guards, struts and bars as we speak for Thursday delivery. I can't speak highly enough of the mans work. Not your average GSXR750 but then I'm not what you would call average . Hopefully the winner of this years Chopper Underground Biker Build Off . Fingers crossed.

What size wheel you putting in the rear Chopa? And are you going for a fully raked out front end?

Hey choppa it might be worth ringing MCAS in Parramatta (or liverpool) if you haven't paid Z power yet. Last year they were selling those Emgo filters for 14.95

I've paid for the filters already. MCA doesn't have the size I need-I checked. Chalky, a picture speaks a thousand words. Here's the dry build photo's from 2 weeks ago. I'm using a stock 160 as it has new tyres(I'm not made of money) but I can easily go up to 190 if I need to as I left space. Front end is stock except for Progressive Springs, polished legs, a billet top yolk courtesy of Stu at AusStreetfighters(Great bloke to deal with) , master cylinder off a GSX600F(the same bike that Frankenbiker's wheels/forks came off),Harley mirrors with Dragway metric adapters, Billet grips off a thieving yank that delivered them half finished, a guard off one of the Donut King Bandits and a set of bars that Neo Dutch & I made from scratch(1.25 inch Whiskey Bars that taper to 7/8ths at the ends). The rear has a brake mount thats part RG250 & part my back shed and has heavily modified GPZ750 axle adjusters to raise & lower the height of the rear end as well as adjust the chain. It's that unusual that I don't need anything else to make it look different like a 300 wide tyre . When finished it will owe me less than 5 grand. All that in and building everything else from scratch in 3 months. And it comes down to 1 week left.

Don't know whether or not I can make the deadline but I'll try.

Nice striping, Neo did my car too.

Wayne, I hav a set of BMC twin pods that suit a 58mm flange on the 36 +38mm cv carbs pictured on your motor. They are silicone rubber and may fit oval flanged carbs. They are brand new.I dont want to sell them but i'm not using them at the moment,so you can borrow them for a few weeks if need be....providing the are replaced if damaged or stretched.Hope this helps...
Cheers

Davo.

I'll be right thanks fella's. My exhaust bloke screwed me over bigtime so unless I can sort something out this Saturday(last day of the contest) I'm a DNF . It's hard to have fought all the way , gotten this far and be let down by a clubmate that blows you off to earn $50 working on some ones car rather than live up to his word & do what he promised. I've said it openly that if Fat Tony costs me the Build Off then I will make sure that I take out my frustrations on him. Unlike him, I'm a man of my word. I've got a set of Emgo pods coming in from Zed Power tomorrow . As for Rockets, I talked to them over the phone and if someone talked that way to me in the flesh I'd belt them. The frame is one that I made and I blogged it's construction in several different places. It's my 7th frame and the first time I've tried a number of new things on it including the rear ride height adjusters. The tank is also one of mine. With the tank I took a smashed Mean Streak tank, sliced out the bottom, rubber malleted the sides back out , cut 8 inches out of the guts , made a new bottom & tunnel and added an 04' GSXR750 filler . If you think Neo's striping is good here , wait til you see the rest as he delivers them on Thursday. I can't speak highly enough of the mans quality, talent, dedication or artistic vision. Anyway, I've had 4 hours sleep in 3 days and I have to be up for work at 0300 so I'm off before I pass out. Men with fractured skulls need their sleep too I guess. Having a 24 our a day head ache , vertigo, black outs & white flashes blows bigtime but then again, the specialist seems to think that I should be dead from the accident so I guess I'm lucky eh?

ru2920 is the p/n for k&n to fit oil cooled 36mm carbs with a 58 x 60 inlet. they fit like a glove and they are the ones that are stocked in australia. the Ru 2922 is the exact same size and type but not stocked in australia.

i ordered though a burson shop at 4pm and had them at 9am the next day. if you pay more than $65 ea they are ripping you off

good luck

"As for Rockets, I talked to them over the phone and if someone talked that way to me in the flesh I'd belt them."

Hey Wayne,

I was at Rocket for a long time and occasionally wish I was still there just so I could slap some of the people they have answering phones. Damn near every time I go anywhere racing or bike-related, people who know me love to go out of their way to whinge in my ear about the lack of understanding, patience or even manners that is displayed by these order-takers. They're not salesmen. They now have one person who is supposed to handle motorcycle enquiries. I don't know him. The rest of the staff that I do know, have little or no interest in motorcycles.

K&N make bloody good products. It's just a shame that the local supply situation is being handcuffed.

The Guy i spoke to at Rocket is Adam. I got the impression he was the guy for motorbikes. really happy to help me and even swapped the filters back for no extra when I discovered the ones I ordered hit the fuel tap, and sorted the right ones for me.

I dealt with Adam Smith as well. He seemed a good bloke and knew ASF.

Good to hear some positives.

The direct number for Rocket Motorcycle is 02 8825 1962.

I've met Adam but can't say that I know him.

I like and use K&N filters normally. But, the jerk I spoke to on the phone was just that, a jerk . But on the Plus Side, Z-Power came through for me with the signle pods arriving today. I've known Allan from Zed Power for along time and he's has never let me down.
