Fighter of the month.

I was checking out another site and they have a monthly vote on fighter of the month.

i was thinking that we could do that here just get a short list of maybe 5 bikes and get every body who wants to vote on a bike.

Just pick 5 random bikes out of the members rides section each month and vote away for maybe a week.

What do you recon??

on tlzone, it is bikes have to be nominated by another member, the nominee needs to have a min amount of posts. noms last for 7 days then a 7 day poll. you cant win twice within 12 month. then there is tl of the year in dec.

I thought about this ages ago but can you really see us having enough entries? I mean fully finished bikes? We have loads of projects on the go but not many completed bikes, and would we then delve into the archives of bikes we are all familiar with already or just bikes that turn up new from now? If that is the case we have even less! I'm quite willing to give a prize to the winner each month but I am worried about numbers and eventually giving the prize to a guy with a new rego holder because we have run out of bikes! What do you think?

I think that ExBen and Stu would dominate every year, they've built easily the best around. Not an issue on the monthly basis though as there's only the 2 of them. Does sound a bit 'populist' to me, the streetfighter version of Idol ?

Maybe a gallery of exemplary bikes, entry to be decided upon by Gix and Large (ie site management). We have the normal gallery for every one, but even my old rat bike is in that, and it's not an exemplary example of a streetfighter, just my fun machine (but wait till later in the year when the BME G2 frames come in). Perhaps guidelines along the lines of heavily modified appearance such as Fimp's Tiller, uniqueness such as Ice's 500 turbo etc etc

Yea, had that suggestion a while back as well. But as I mentioned before, it's just down to quantity. Last year's calendar was hard enough to scrape together, I'm a bit worried about this years! I know you guys won't let me down.

Thought a bit more about the "Fighter of the month" and calendar association and don't think it's a good idea. If you have seen the "FOTM" on the website for a month already then the calendar is going to feel old hat when you see it. Also, half the attraction of last years calendar was guessing who made it in and what bikes were where. Don't you think so? We could still do a FOTM though. Got any nominations for April?

I got the fighter of the month at customfighters, for feb, and even though the friendly peeps at OLd School Suzuki have Nominated me, aparently its been said my bike isnt OLD skool so they wont have me...
