OK fuckers I want to know what f/ends people have fitted to their Old Skool air cooled Z9/GS-GSX/Katana's ect with pics preferably!

I have a spare Z9 frame and want an idea of what might be the most suitable f/end to keep an eye out for.

was thinking of a 1200 bandit f/end coz they're cheap but would like to know what all the cool kids have used first.

Oh I've looked, I've looked at it lots!

but I don't think the full USD style f/end would suit a Zed, looks fuckin A1 with the pop up bodywork though.

Look out for some, oh shit can't remeber the exact model, GSX (some fully faired tourer) They have a decent length on the tubes, are 41mm and the legs accept 4 piston Tokico calipers, with something like a 296mm (maybe 300) disc diameter. 17mm axle if I remember. I'll have a look in the shed tommorrow. I'm using a set on the CB thing that's on hold for the moment.

Nice Harris!

I actually have a 94 Fireblade f/end set up with a Z9 stem so I might put that in for a looksie and a few measurements.

just having a fiddle with my parts stash for now.

I've just been checking out today the front end for my Z1000A the stock GSXR1000K1/K4 yokes and stem go straight in, the stem is just long enough, although it could do with the lower yoke being machined to allow the stem 5mm higher. But if you use a single collar nut it al works the Zed headrace bearings fit the GSXR stem. I'll be dropping the front end out of the bike shortly as the Harris yokes and clip ons are going into my Katana project, which means I needed a yoke set for my K series forks etc that are currently fitted. I'll be dropping the new stock GSXR1000 yokes and stem, along with a pair of risers and Tuono bars.

I have a complete RF600 front end in my GSX, literally went straight in, same bearing numbers and right stem length. Only draw back is front caliper holes are 75mm so won't fit 4 or 6 pot caliper without an adapter. Cut 50mm off the springs and fitted 50mm spacers, stock oil weight and quantity.
