whilst cleaning the bike my young fellow decided to help by scrubbing the paintwork with a wire brush
realising the need to repaint i set about stripping down, once the fairing etc was off i thought to myself....... I like the look of it without the fairing.................
not one to do things by halves i got stuck into it.
done so far, top yoke conversion, wider bars, brake lines.
twin headlights, digital dashboard,
moved the thermostat housing inboard. new tyres and a very sweet sounding D&D exhaust

the whole thing is painted satin black so far, this is just a base for whats next, i have an artist about to be let loose on it, he plans to do an alien style job in metallics...

I Dont know if this qualifies as a streetfighter or not but im happy with it.

Great first post, welcome to the madness Dave.. Another member for the WASF crew. Do you have any plans of trimming down the quite robust RF tail? Or maybe a USD conversion for the future?

chop it would look much better with a thinner tail and a single seat ,bring on the paintwork would a late model cbr tail fit.

Welcome Dave, bikes looking good man. Most of the tail stuff can be relocated either in the new tail or in other places. While your at it, and have the tail shortend, chop that D&D down to match.

would it be better to shorten the can or the link pipe on the D&D ?

Hmmm I reckon both the link pipe and the can could do with a shorten mate.

Have a look at these RF's for a few ideas, some are 600's but you'll get an idea. There not the most abundant bike that is fightered but they are a great platform In my opinion, depending on how far you want to go, there frames are steel so you can weld on your own subframe and mate whatever tail you'd like to it if you wanted..

Why not go all out an do a custom job like the last one pictured above? Just buy the tail unit you like and then make a simple box section subframe to support it (get pros to weld it up if that's not your thing). The one above is supported by the top shock mount to give it a minimal look. All the stuff in your tail can be located somewhere else, it's never an issue. If you run pod filters on your engine you can use the some of the space left by the airbox if you wanted as well.

Best thing you can do is go to an exhuast shop and get then to make one for the pipe. DB killer is just a name thrown around. Its just a bit of extra baffelling and reduce's the pipe's exit port.
They look like this type of set up.
