Yes. I install satellite dishes and T.V. antenna for AUSTAR/Foxtel (12years) and no I can't get you free conections. It's not as flashy as CUTCAT "Professional Wanker" but at least I can have a slash at home and not think of WORK.

I'm a mechanic. We have a family workshop in Tweed - southern Gold Coast. General repairs/servicing to cars, pink/blue slips cars and bikes, that sort of stuff. Money not great but the perks are pretty good. Happy to help if anyone needs something. Thanks.

Oh, and I am another factory backed Honda rider that gets paid to jam paper into holes..

I work for a company involved in the mining industry in both West Australia and in about half a dozen countries in Africa.
I'm responsible for purchasing, warehousing and logistics for the whole lot of them so I base myself in Perth and do about three to four trips a year to the various regions in Africa.
I always look forward to travelling, but I always look forward to coming home even more.
Good money, responsibility, travel and that "I'm making a difference" feeling most of the time have kept me with this company for a long time, So i guess I'm lucky.

I'm working for a company that supplies and installs marine and industrial insulation. I was on the 'tools' (if you can call a lagging knife a tool) for 6 months, then stock control/quotes for 6 months, now I'm doing project management/quality assurance/technical. We've got some cool products which are the best in the world of structural fire protection for high speed craft, we're kicking ass for a small company and I'm stoked to be working here. The only bad thing is the boss rides a 'Harley'... well it looks like one, sounds like one, but is one of those custom frame, S&S engined things... At least he understands when I have to take time off for interstate rides!

Hey, just recently joined the Streetfighter forum on recommendation of a friend in Australia, he streetfightered a Kawa (Dave Sloan).
I am in Cape Town, South Africa, belong to the Warriors motorcycle club and ride a '97 Blackbird, hopefully upgrade to a newer model shortly.
Found this posting quite interesting since I am seriously considering migrating to Australia if I can get the paperwork out of the way.
I am into hardware and software design, qualified as an electronic technician with approx 8 years experience in industrial environment (everything from general plc development to Yokogawa DCS programming (have papers), general analogue and digital circuit design to embedded software design and development (Atmel, PIC 8051's etc.)) For the last 5 years though have been into software development more (qualified in software development as well) programming in Delphi, .NET, C, PHP, SQL, Firebird, Interbase, MySQL (hell anything goes). Have experience in NAVISION ERP software development, GSM related development and business analysis, pretty much do the full software development life cycle.
As I mentioned before I would love to establish myself in Australia, if only I can get a job offer / lead as to where to start his process.
I would appreciate some feedback from you guys.
Thanks.

I'm a student mechancial engineer this is my last year thank christ. Started the degree when I was 25 so I'll be 29 when I start earning decent money again.
Currently I'm doing technical drawings for a large door hinge company. I've been working on tech drawings for every screw they use so you could say I'm screwed right now.
I do principally SolidWorks stuff and have been doing this for the last 3 years so if anyone ever needs 3d solid models and tech drawings give me a shout out.
I'm the guy thats running through your front door in the bullet proof vest and baton or gun drawn. Nothing as cool as you guys, i'm a cop. Any traffic issues feel free to ask i'll do my best, although it's not my area.

3 reasons i ask this, im sure most members here would be interested in what other people do for a job. you never know, maybe another member near to you has a skill you may be interested in using maybe we have a photographer here and your getting married soon or your doing up your bathroom and need a glazier or maybe you need something delivered from Sydney to Brisbane maybe someone works for a transport firm. the 3rd is employment, ive just helped Myron get a job where i work and they are still looking for more workers. so maybe you have a job vacancy where you work? i just thought if we could provide some sort of database it may be helpful.
old thread, great read, and here is my bit so far ...
panel beater by trade (qualified - one of the few), licenced pest controller, qualified carpet cleaner, panel shop manager, owned and operatated motorcycle repair business Northside Brisbane "Bikefix" for approx. 7 years, had major motorbike accident and had to close business due to long recovery time, eventually went back to beating for short time turning landcrusier / patrols into dual cabs, head beater at Creative Conversions, now own "Double Glazed Products / Vue Windows" (www.vuewindows.com.au) for now 9 years which we manufacture uPVC windows, the UK boys will know that they are and we do anything double glazed, including glass fridge doors for major drink companies.
But the long and the short of this thread is how we can all help each other. Anyone in need of glass, don't worry, it's cheap and any offcuts I have are free ! Have full workshop facilities, have mills, copy routers, sheet metal folders & gillos. Happy to help out wherever possible.

Currently have a day job working for a large research organisation developing new technologies, mainly for the mining industry, but I also get to work on some cool stuff such as rockets and secret military equipment, but if I told you about that I would have to kill you all:D.
My second job is my engineering business, I specialise in prototype work, and the difficult stuff no one else wants to do, and I am currently working on some of the products I had filed provisional patents on prior to my previous business going in to receivership. I have 4 axis cnc milling, cnc turning capability, edm, grinding, tig welding for titanium, aluminium etc, and access to high quality magnesium castings.
I ran a business in the uk in the mid 80's to early 90's building and developing race vehicles, and restoring vintage vehicles. I built formula vehicles (formula ford/renault/500) using proprietary chassis, but developed the motors in house. We built karts, rally cars, vintage and classic racing motorcycles, and prepared modern (at the time) race bikes.
We had 3 dyno rooms with heenan froude dpx1, 2 and 3 dynos, and built full billet engines to test new technologies (some of which can be seen on todays bikes ;)), we even had a full carbon composite chassis with hub centre steering on track running a 250 rotax tandem twin engine, and built numerous steel frames and swingarms for race use. Then I overstreched myself and everything went to shit :(

Then I overstreched myself and everything went to shit :(
.....but can you sharpen pencil's ?
