Hi All,
I have a problem with Ebay shutting down internet explorer it is OK if I go to ebay store direct but shuts down if I go to the main page lasts about 5 sec and tells me it has found a problem and will shut down. I have reinstalled IE, run both the spyware programs I use and anti virus. I even loaded google chrome and all was good but I like IE and want to keep it (I know how to use/find what I want with it ie porn/bikes).
Anyone have any idea's

I had that happen twice a while ago and I'm using Firefox now the fucking laptop likes to start up with a blank screen and will sit like that until the battery pack runs out and it switches itself off only then can you restart it and have it start up normally.

any ideas?

My setup ebay does the same shit to google , firefox is a better option i have heard many a time I'm just to slack to change it.

As for efe and your random laptop issues sounds like a hardware issue, shop to fix , or if it happens just pull the battery while laptop power unplugged and try starting up again, if its an older laptop will cost you more to fix it than to buy a new one.

Firefox

Can't remember last time I was forced to use IE.

IE is just like your liver. Both are EVIL and must be destroyed

How are you opening Ebay, from your favourites?
Is it a fake Ebay page? So your AV is spitting it out?

I`d recommend trying a "registry clean up" through whatever utlities you have as a first step ?

Do a manual cookie clear out too.
Sounds like just shit on your HD?

Try resetting IE back to defaults.

Click on the Tools menu / Internet Options (If you don't have a Tools Menu, Right click the bar at the top of IE and select Menu Bar)
Small window will open, select the Advanced tab.
In the Advanced tab select Reset Button
Select the 'Delete personal Settings' tick box then hit 'Reset'
Close IE and reopen it
Go through the prompts to set you search engine etc. just select yes or next or OK if not sure about any of it.
Your done.

I did reset IE the other day with out a result. Got the shits and left it alone for a couple of days then tried today and all is good so I have NFI why it was doing it but what ever it was fixed itself[8D][8D]

Internet Explorer is shit, more quirky bugs then even Microsoft can figure out so yea, just download Firefox and your worries are over.
However if you do want to persist and you have the problem again and providing your not using Windows 7, you can uninstall IE8 and reinstall it again which also usually fixes allot of problems. Control Panel / Add Remove Programs.

I concur with what nearly everyone else has said... explorer is FUCKED (i work with wed developers and they all hate it, too many compatibility problems)

Personally i use Google Chrome. http://www.google.com.au/aclk?sa=l&ai=ChQTeW_57TdmUI4bCuwPd3O2WAanTtPcBoZ67oBj30PaVLA gAEAFQ2Yr9-AdgpcCjgKQBoAHv88j2A8gBAaoEFk_QouiFNteFa3MxEtIa5AJ zbNURd44&sig=AGiWqtwDT-ij4sNuU94GfczO4wQRpCbuCw&adurl=http://www.google.com/chrome/%3Fbrand%3DCHKB%26utm_campaign%3Den%26utm_source%3 Den-ha-aunz-ct%26utm_medium%3Dha
