So I got a new engine!! FINALLY >:D

Just a quick pic of the bike at the shop getting stuff done:

They did the seals, pads and brake flush while I had it with them for the swap. $1600 later I rode it home and got bored so did this...lol

NOW I HAVE A QUESTION!!!!
Below is my dream bike: BladeRod

My question to you fine folk then is: how legal is this bad boy??
Because I've a conveniently plugged in grinder over here :P

Thanks for the heads up Gitzy, I've just shot him a message.

As far as I know though when I do mine I want to stick mod laws I've found so far:
Check - Indicators 300mm apart
Check - Rear hugger (if not stock) covers 45 of the rear tyre from the axle back

What about insurance companies though - would my third party be affected by the mods?
I am with InsureMyRide..

Do some research on the indicators. There was (IIRC) a brand new cop bike with its rear indicators only 220mm apart, which caused problems for the cops when they tried to defect other bikes for the same thing.

I doubt very much if that tractor style seat is leagal without anything stopping you falling off the back.

The exhaust looks cool, but it would need some serious baffling to be anywhere near legal.

Correct on the rear fender at 45, dont know about qld but it vic the indicator ruling has recently been changed, front are now down to 240mm centre to centre, rears are noe 180mm.
You'll need morrors too.
As above a pipe that meets regs.
That seat should be ok, and you should be able to get single seat rego if they're still doing it up there.

Welcome Alex - ZXR's make nice fighters ;)

A couple of things (or my $0.02) if you are taking your fighter for rego:

You'll need mirrors (left and right).

The rear mudguard thing is correct (45 deg or draw a vertical line from the back of the tyre and the mudguard has to meet / exceed that).

Not too sure about the indicator spacing, but 300mm still sounds about right.

QLD still has solo rego and it works out to be about half price (you need a mod plate on the bike). The seat has to be no longer than 500mm.

Insurance? No idea [V]

Get the grinder out mate [:p]

Yeah, as the others have said,
if the Blade was pulled in a Qld clamp down
you'd expect tickets for...
* The short rear guard,
* Lack of mirrors,
* The pipe,
* Indicators,
* cant tell if it got bar-ends but they'd be needed i think.

Cant see the seat being an issue.
It's very similar the the Harley "Rocker" thats in the current range.

The Bladerod was what i was going to base my build off,but having nothing behind the seat worried me abit,so i put alittle tail on mine.

I've slid back on the seat,and my bum has touched the little tail afew times when eccelerating,or having a go on bumpy roads
I like knowing its there to stop me sliding off.I doubt it would happen,but if it did,id hate to know the damage i'd do to myself!!
If you go the bladerod style.i'd definately have a custom seat made up,with abit of a rise on the back of it??
Maybe Kev could post pic or two of the stuff he's done??

Yeah I think I'll have a little end on my tail too, that might give me something to mount the plate and indicators to at any rate.

Heh this is a fighter here :P

Anyways I'm gonna plan out the subframe chop next. There's a hell of a lot of relocation about to go down...
