I'm thinking of upgrading the front end of my B model ZX9R. I'm unsure which direction to go I've been looking at later model zx12/zx10 front end /forks and Suzuki GSXR 1000 front ends /forks K6 or newer.

The reason I want to upgrade is are as follows:
Weight reduction, looks and an upgrade to radial brakes

The questions I have are:
Should I do a complete front end swap or will I get similar benefits by upgrading fork legs wheel and brakes etc and using my original triples.
I'm also asking for opinions on which forks would be the best option.

I'm still doing a bit of my own research but i thought I'd put it out there to see what advice you guys have on this subject.
cheers

What about a ZX14 f/end, it might handle the weight of the ZX9 better and have more suitable geometry (rake/Trail) than sports bike forks.

ZX14 front end could be an option, I'm unsure on weight differences, all i know the USDs on my nine are heavy as fuck, I'm hoping to reduce the overall weight.

Late model ZX10R definitely, I've put an 09 ZX10R front into a 00 ZX9R E, it was a lot lighter, handled great & had much better brakes.

It's highly unlikely that your B triples will have the same fork spacing / offset as a newer front so get the entire front end and swap it out. That way you only have to change bearings / stems rather than piss around with wheel spacers, disc offsets, blah blah.

Think I might have to sell my 600 to finance this plus other plans I have for the 9 [8D]

ben put K4 gix 1000 forks into my 91model 1100 yokes a while back, I wanted to keep the yokes/risers with hidden wiring and bars i already had.
Used K4 forks and brakes, 91 model 1100 yokes and a TLR axle.
Saved 2.2kg a side, making a 4.4kg saving by changing forks and calipers.
