AFR 2011 Fri April 1 - Sunday April 3

Ok guys,

We're having a run to Bathurst on the 1st - 3rd April 2011. Going to call it the April Fools Run, as no one is using that name at the moment. Turn up Bathurst on Friday, do a run around the area/ Mt Panorama Sat and cruise home on the Sunday.

Accomodation details are-

The Owner was very Bike Friendly, We did the usual pics out front of Pub up on the sidewalk, very helpful with garages etc..

I rang the hotel and accomodation is $40 each a night. He said most rooms had a double and a single bed, but he was saying 2 to a room unless the victorians want to get all mantrainy.

I've got to ring him back and check, but I believe that might include breakfast.

There's lock up parking for the bikes.

Because of the unprecedented mining boom that is enrichening Australia, rooms book out fast at the Hotel, so he really needs a good idea of the numbers going by next week.

So post up your name and how many nights accomodation you'd want if you're serious about coming pls and I'll add them to thie first post.

hey todd dont forget im getting 104 -110 klms out of my tank still havent got fuel prob sorted out ,so for me 800ish klm = $160 on fuel and accom $80 and a man isnt a fish @ $20 tank food i love me food and burbon $500 is about it mate!!

That sucks balls is it doing any damage internally churning that much fuel?? I just hit 212kms and fuel light come on on the TL, the R1 comes on at around 230km, I'll def be riding the R1.. tis a fighter meet after all :D

albi, check the fuel pumps o-ring isnt leaking, also the threads that hold the pump plate onto the tank are weak as piss, and strip real easy,causing the pump plate not to seal. my old tl was lucky to see 170km before the solid fuel light was on. it had a leak from under the pump plate.

Ok, just rang the hotel and talked to Ron the manager.

I've booked for 20, and we need to confirm a non changeable number 2 weeks before we go.

There's 6 rooms with a double and single. (twin share)

There's 2 rooms with a double, a single and a bunk (4 share)

and there's another 8(?) single rooms.

It's $40 a night if you're sharing a room or $65 a night for a single

Breakfast isn't included, but we can order it on the day if we want.

I've got a test & tune at WSID on the Friday night, Barry Sheene Festival of Speed on Saturday and racing at the Sydney Jamboree at WSID on Sunday.

boris im in the same boat as you , i banked $600 for the whole month of january this year,my out goings for the same month were $1650,but ,i funnel off $50 every week into my own account that way if i need to go to nfr afr,or a ride,,ive got cash,..its called knowing how to bank and not spending all your spare cash on woodstock,,yuk,,,,,trust me im broker then most but i manage,,,im not having a dig,but u can only claim broke for so long,,i understand people wit kids dogs n mortgages ,have it tuff,ive got 3 kids and some large fuckin loans,;)

I mean I know lately nearly everyone is prob skint, I personally don't have 2 x 10 cent pieces to rub together after buyin the TL, but I really don't want to miss AFR..

There is 35 weeks between now and November, Cooma NFR will surely be on again, so start puttin $10-$20 a week away in a tin and you'll have min of $350+ and come NFR time we should have a big turnout..

The usual come back here is "I don't have that spare" but I'm willing to bet that the majority of you all drink and smoke, so whats $10 p/w for a top weekend away..

I'm not saying this to spark an argument on who has it spare or who hasn't or how much further it is for you to travel than the next bloke or kids or whatever.. Just something to think about before NFR.. or even AFR next year, so that money isn't an issue for you come that time round, and you would be able to make it..

sorry pete I don't drink woodstock anymore and my outgoings aren't $1650 a month I pay the banks $4300 before I can even open the door then all my suppliers so pretty much what I earn ATM goes out the door like I say I would love to meet as many off ASF as I can and have taken as many opportunities as I can to do so but other than that call me a softcock or whatever ( not a stab at anyone here) but some of us realistically have more important things(sorry folks) than riding to Bathurst

Or is there OH&S Rules about that type of thing? either way Bathurst has a thousand pubs to stay at.. and there is a park directly across the road from the pub Stu just swag over there lol..

Ok Ron the hotel manager just rang saying there was another group wanting to book several rooms and I needed to give him numbers now.

As it is, we've settled on 10 rooms.

Six are twin rooms -double and a single

One is a four share -Double single and bunk or somesuch

Three are double rooms - one double bed.



The doubles would have been the singles (If you see what I mean) but if 80s freak and shiney things and Bob and Mrs Bob share a double room each we can fit 21.

Right now there's 19 on the list

I'm guessing 1 or 2 may yet drop out and there's 3 or 4 still unsure.

So right now it's first in best dressed, although if you check the location map, the hotel is right in the middle of Bathurst, so there's more hotels accom within 100m walk in any direction if more of you guys decide at the last minute to come.
