Is this what you were going to ride for your 'naked rider' ride?

There's more plastic there than a fuckin' Tupperware party - Now if only Suzuki offered the lifetime garantee that Tuppaware did I would be laughing 8) ... Seriously I want to keep it pretty stock .. because people say that they are boring and slow . then suprise them when the b12 is thrown in her 8)

It's got blisters! Oh, hang on, they're the indicators... Well you know the guy that designed this also designed the ford taurus so that probably says it all LOL.. I wanted about 10 other bikes before this one when I bought it .. But the thing was I couldnt afford any of the others anywhere near as new or in as good nick .. being a first step up from a 250 .. a lot of people said it was a bullet proof and sensible choise and after 6 years 65000kms .. not a single fault .. they were right .. I want bigger and better but the budget doesnt allow for a new bike .. Thats why I am here .. and will keep this bike .. regarding the plastic and nakedness .. The fairings give me somewhere to hide the radar detector 8)

over here in the states they are badged katanas. we affectionately refer to them as can-a-tunas.

they arent bad bikes but i like the previous bodystyle better:)

I can deffinately see the ford taurus in there... I like your idea for the build. Sleepers can give you some uge laughs - and keep you out of the eye of mister plod.

Good luck mate - keep us posted.

The Truth is .. I had 10 000 burning a hole in my pocket for a new bike 5 - 6 years ago ... I was steping off my 250 VN Eliminator .. (When I started riding I was one of the poor misguided who just wanted a Harley) ... My time on a cruiser fixed that LOL .. Anyways, back to the 10 000 .. I was looking at Blackbirds and Busas (as you do) but all I could get for around 10 then was something old. Wasnt part of the riding community so there were not going to be any bargins to be found .. I looked round all the stores .. and saw 5 - 6 year old Blackbirds and no busas at that price and then my wife pointed out that for that kind of money I could get this GSX750F ex-demo .. still under warranty with next to kms.. I didnt like it .. she did .. I talked to a lot of people and at the time was told .. its a good reliable machine with great brakes and a very sensible step up from a 250cc machine .. I ended up taking everyones advise and going with the sensible choise .. 3 months down the track I crashed it .. as you do when you are inexperienced not paying attention etc .. I bent the frame 7cms and twisted it and the subframe .. Smashed the carbs the tank the alternator and all the plastics .. So what you see above is already a rebuild 8) .. Dave Kellet Did the frame for me and a guy called Geoff who used to work at Springwood Suzuki repaired it .. its never missed a beat since and runs straighter than when I bought it .. .. so since then I have done as much as I could to make it less sensible .. 8) .. I have come this far so it makes some kind of twisted sence to keep going .. I have planned to make it much less sensible .. but Keep some of the styling in the plastics .. although I am changing the tail end .. and I am hoping to put one of Extreme Creations Digital Dashs in alongside a Tom tom GPS .. The whole plan is to keep the Sport/Tourer theme but make it more sport and more tourer 8) .. Thats why I have heated grips Autocom and putting in the GPS .. and a more comfy seat .. but dump in a bigger engine a wider back and the rest as well 8)

(Its not a fetish ... its just something you do)

G'day War Hound,

For my 2C worth....maybe you'd be better off trading the ol teapot in for a new Z750 or Z1000 ??. Not trying to diss your ride, but it'll take a lot of work (and mucho cash) to mod your Suzi as you've suggested.
Just a thought mate - and welcome to the forum!

pfftt.. think ive spend less then 3g on my bike all up, ive only got to tune and paint

and these bikes take b12 and all oil cooled gixxer donks easier then the gixxers themselves.

rf900 swingers fit with ease, gixxer fronts are a drop in. hardest part about a build with one of these bikes is the fact you HAVE to chop the subbie and lower subbie rails, and fab new bolt points to take a better rear end with a wider tyre.

think of it as a basic gixxer streetfighter build, with 6 extra welds and plastics

cheers.joe.

Aside from that I have owned enough Kwakas to know I never want another one .. We were out having a sickie ride today .. got into some roadworks .. whalla .. Kwaka spitting coolant all over the road .. same as the one I owned before and Same as the one before that .. I am well and truley over the water cooled Kwaka experience.. 8) Fortunatley this Kwaka (ZZR600) ismy girlfriends (re:not my problem .. - Just kidding) By the same token I have owned this GSX750F for 6 years and it has never broken down .. 65000 uninterupted Kms .. other than one self inflicted smack into a post.. 8) ..

Crazy - I am grabbing all the bits over the next couple of pays .. 8) ..

Heated grips? ffs you live in QLD what the hell are the heated grips for? originality?

Damn I am posting to mayself but I have to answer this .. I live on 10 acres just outside logan village .. summer here is HOT as and Winter is F Frezing .. I dont drive a car and I am a shift worker .. that means sometimes I am heading of to work at 4am .. sometimes I am coming home at 2am .. its Fing cold then .. so heated grips are very handy 8)

17-03-2007, 10:14 AM
What is F freezing for QLD? 10 degrees? Do you ever get a frost up that way?

Slain
17-03-2007, 12:00 PM
it gets cold in qld, im in toowoomba atm and temps are between 2-5 degrees on a crappy day, hence ym blade still has fairings

War_Hound
17-03-2007, 01:23 PM
6 - 8 and yes it will frost here in the winter .. I guess its what your used to aswell .. I mean I went to Darwin in the Winter (30 degrees everyday there then) and the locals were in long sleves and jeans ..the hotel operator asked us if we wanted extra blankets 8) .. Regarding the bike though .. As I mentioned . I want to build it keeping the sport and touring in mind I am looking at a USD Gixxer front end but I may still pop raisers on it for comfort and tourability .. I want a better sport tourer that what I have .. without going to buy a new bike.. I was thinking about the z1000 option that was mentioned to me .. or SV1000 in my Suzuki Language 8) .. But buying a new bike is not what its all about on here anyway is it ? I want something a bit unique .. Considering how seldom I see aGSXF on the road .. and how even more rare there is one with even a yoshi on it let alone anything else .. I am going to stick with it 8)

Yeah part of me wants to rip off the fairings and completley fighter it ..partr of me wants to keep it faired and make the sleeper .. I think the only logical solution is to have two 8) Pop 1100 in the faired one and a fully worked boared turbo 1100 in the naked. 8)

This would be my bike, I wasnt going to join until I seen someone had posted a link to my fighter build. The bike actually started out as a 1992 Katana 750 but now has the heart of an 1100 with stage 3 jetted carbs, individual pod filters and a vance and hines exhaust :)

War_hound, time to rip off the fairings and start modding.....its only a bike [}:)]

War_Hound
09-04-2007, 10:16 AM
LOL .. its on the cards although I am thinking of keeping one faired and done up as a sleeper and then building another .. as a full fighter .. 8) Best of both worlds and I have read through that link to yours .. and I am waiting to see the next pics .. 8) .. Thing is this bike is my everyday commuter .. cant take it off the road for extended periods . thats why the thought of a second for a fighter 8)

Thats my only bike but I have a few cars so I just suffer with having to drive instead of ride right now. Its still a few weeks from being finished......makes me cry when I see everyone riding and then I think of how much I have invested in this one and I have never even had a chance to ride it hahaha
