Hi Guys,

Well this is my current toy. 1999 Zx9R C1, rash on one side and broken tabs and such. She's the reason I joined this forum.

So basically, I can't find anything that quite replaces this bike for me, and I want a new bike. So She's getting a streetfighter treatment.

I'm trying to go for the tough naked bike look rather than the flashy look. But I do want the bike to look a little unique, it also has to ride well as I do chew up quite alot ok km's on the weekend.

So the plan fairly conservative at the moment. Ditch the fairings, headlight and clip-ons. Clean up the messy bits of bike underneath, polish the outer part of the rims, repaint the engine covers and so on.

I was thinking of fitting the front indicators to the radiator much like the street triple. I'm just trying to work out what to do with the headlight at the moment, but I was thinking of going for dual round lights. I'd like to try to use the instrument bracket rather than mounting the lights to the fork. Mainly to try to keep the fixed behavior of the lights. (Am I on the mark with this one?

Anyway, If you have any suggestions please let me know, i'd love to hear them.

Cheers,
Disassembled.

For the h/light I have mine mounted on the triples, this way I keep the clean look of the forks and the light doesn't sit a mile in front of the bike either. There isn't much of a difference in the amount of light shown, or spread of light (as long as you get a decent light: E-marked) in mounting on the forks as opposed to using the standard brackets .

that's my opinion anyway. Each to their own, after all, when building a streetfighter, it should be what you want it to be. That's the whole point of it...

Thanks for the advice wacky. I've never ridden a bike with fork mounted lights, so I was just assuming. It does seem like more options are available for fork mount. Have you kept your factory instruments? Does the bracket cause a problem with the lights mounted on the triple clamps?
