I reckon your gunna cop some flack for not saying G'day/Hi b4 asking for help, anyway I've got a 96 KLX650R, I assume your's the R model, if so say G'day and I'll PM you the wiring diagram out of the my workshop manual. No G'day no wiring diagram :-)

I will bet you it is just the pickup as they have a habit of dying down there in the case on all chook chasers. Unless wiring is stuffed it has to be (in order of most likely) spark plugs, pickup, coils or CDI.
