i know little about the practical applications of turbos on bikes i know the principals and have experience with turbos on excavators
:) ....point is ive been offered a cx500 turbo really cheap apperntly the waste gate is stuck but the impellor bearings are all ok as is evrything else would this be any good to me in the future with a veiw to turbo ing the roller dor?[?]
Would have thought too small, the CX650's didn't go that hard. Plus it's for a fairly slow revving, cross the frame v-twin, so will need a fair bit of modification. It's also 22-23 years old now.
But I ain't done a turbo before, so I definitely ain't no expert.
Have you contemplated looking around for a CB1100R motor for it, and adding fuel injection. Maybe not as powerful, but more tractable and durable.
And it'll match your tank :)

Turbo's are sized by there hp or airflow potential, what is good hp for a cx500 is not all that spectacular in other applications.
