Give this a read Steve..

http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=105992

I think I have read in the past whilst researching front end that 03/04 636 Forks are 780mm top to bottom measurement laying down flat on bench with no weight..
and 750mm from top of fork leg to axle centre/line fitted to the bike with no weight.. but best not quote me..

Are you keen on 636 Fork because there Kwak items?? Gixer Items might be more accessible..

If your handy with some tools and good with measurements you'll be fine mate.. My last major conversion was K4/K5 GSXR 750 front end on 96 Bandit 12 retaining the original Bandit front wheel, a bit of mucking about and some appropriate spacers and all went well..

Then again if you have a spare $900 you could have this at your door..
