Hey guys, been fiddling with my bike lately, getting it ready for the bars, tacho and headlights, I need to remove the front setup my old lights used to fit to and that the current tacho is on. They are welded from the left side and the nuts on the right hold it to the frame are rounded where someone has obviously had a go at this before and from myself having a quick go...

Chisel a groove into them at a 90degree angle. Then place a pin punch, (or the chisel) in the groove at a 45 degree angle and give it a hit in a counter-clockwise direction. It'll fuck the nuts, but should get them loose too.

Irwin manufacture a set of sockets with a reverse spiral flute, specifically designed for removing rounded bolts/nuts/hexs/studs etc. They are also available from Snap on. The work brilliantly, I have a set that covers everything from 8mm upto 21mm I use them regularly when breaking bikes, and often on customers bikes that have been neglected for years.

Drill the bolts out from the welded side, small drill as a guide then one slightly larger than the bolt diam. Then just grind down weld and new bolts if needed .

On second look at photo , looks like blue thread locker on bolt ? If so heat will help move em, gas torch prob easyest option. If you dont want to drill (drill quicker and less chance of stuffing frame paint)
