I might get flamed but I think the tail is a too big as it makes the fat tyre look like it's a "normal" size, or does it look different in the flesh?
chopiesel
08-02-2011, 05:08 PM
nah it looks fucking wide in the flesh
here is a comparo with a stock gixxer

stainless engine bolts all over
gixxer race tail has been moddified (cleaned up a bit ), i got a race tail as i wanted a one piece tail and they just look cleaner, downside is they are not the same quality as a stock one and no undertail fits realy so today i spent the morning modifying a gixxer undertail
basically all that remains of the undertail is the middle 3rd, i extended the back and re made the front section so that kicks up level with the ground so it follows the bottom line of the tail.
i decided to paint the stator cover today and will get some airbrushing done on it, it looked crap with clear over the polished magnesium.
tomorrow i will bust out the sander and body filler and finish off the undertail
then i can cut my led strips into the tail and primer them both

albi, you would have to let me know all the bolt lengths you want,
i just pulled most of mine out and i was busy at work and another guy went around and picked them for me, spoke to him today and he cant remember what lengths they all where.

I know you work at a bolt place Chop, and I'm assuming Albi has asked about em... Buuuut this is exactly what probolt specialize in Albi, in kit form.. Not sure if there more or less expensive, but there ultra convenient, I've bolted the shit out of 3 bikes from here..
http://www.probolt-australia.com/Products/Suzuki_TL1000S_9703
lmao mate not a prob ill let you know the sizes ,cheers mate

Ive used Probolt on 2 of my bikes also. Ive found them very handy on lager size M8 - M10 bolts with finer thread pitch. Most bolt places Ive been to dont stock M10 with 1.25 pitch.
As always though chop, looking killer mate!
chopiesel

Just had a look at pro bolt site, they are expensive but they have nicer looking heads on them than the ones we have here at work as we sell them mainly for manufacturing purposes. id go with pro bolts if I didn't work here.

INDUSTRIAL!
The bolts look top notch Chop they aren't noticeable until you actually look at them.
I have the same sort of bolts for my Z9 all with polished heads direct from the states with matching washers ect 219 pcs (whole bike) for $35 usd.
build is looking good.

prob should pull my finger out and finish the undertail but i really aint in the mood to deal with the dust involved.

so my best mate postman pat came with some more stuff from the states today
150 link chain with chrome links and a billet 5/8 offset sprocket
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g50/chopiesel/bike/DSC03173.jpg
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g50/chopiesel/bike/DSC03174.jpg
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g50/chopiesel/bike/DSC03175.jpg
next problem, slave cylinder hits sprocket
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g50/chopiesel/bike/DSC03178.jpg
solution, i tapped an m8 thread into this blank hole, i am going to drill out the corresponding blank hole in the slave and space the whole thing out then bolt it solid in 3 places, lucky for my we have 6mm stainless rod at work so i can make a longer push rod.
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g50/chopiesel/bike/DSC03179.jpg
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g50/chopiesel/bike/DSC03180.jpg
