Hey lads, have any of you had any experience with stand alone engines like this little one.. are they reliable? build quality, any info etc..
I think it would make for a great little project Go Kart.. Prob not the most powerful of beasts but I would be making more so with fun factor not ball tearing performance, plus mates kiddies could use..
Very convenient little unit.. Just add fuel tank really..

There $1090 & $41 postage

Thoughts lads..

Get a 2nd hand generator and rob the engine off that it would be cheaper for a start.

Have one mounted to a Genarator in burtha mate (used electric start one) to replace a honda motor, hasn't missed a beat so far but its held at pitty constant revs/load when on unless I really load it up with the welder. There used to be a local indoor go-cart track that used something similar they seemed very reliable but not the same unit. MIne was a "china special" has had plenty of use while I was printing at markets every fri sat sun every second week for 16 months and on the other weekend I would use it to run a tig/mig prob done 800 hours so far . Oil change is done when I feel the need (prob done it 4 times) did stop once and not want to run to happy after (was when I run it outa juice on day, turned out crap fuel in tank left sediment when i run it out blocked fuel filter easy fix)

These guys have just put an ~15hp moteur from a ride on mower into a buggy. Built their own clutch and fitted a turbo... [8D]
