Thought I would start a thread and see what folks do for rides in your area. This is my coffee run.

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=brisbane&daddr=the+gap+qld+to:mt+nebo+to:mt+glorious+to:fer ny+grove+to:brisbane&layer=&sll=-27.40303,152.894215&sspn=0.215797,0.31929&ie=UTF8&z=12&om=1

Use maps.google.com.au and if you want to do a whole loop put in your start destination then in the direction window put nextstop to: nextstop to: nextstop to: nextstop

Change nextstop to the suburb you are passing through [:p]

I live in Bracken Ridge so I do my coffee run via Eatons Crossing road, Samford, Highvale to Glorious, sometimes I go down the other side of Glorious to the "t" or to Mt Mee and Peachester.. depends how I feel and who I'm with... lotsa good roads around... be going somewhere tomorrow, probably just to Glorious for brekky.. I turn into a pumpkin at midday..

Boring "wake-up" cruise from Brissy out to Ipswich,
Off the Toowoomba road to Fernvale,(towards Esk)
Take the right turn off the Esk road to the back of Glorious,
Straight on past the Mt G "T" junction,
brilliant fast sweepers all the way to Somerset Dam.
Re-fill / Coffee at Servo.
Tight twistys around the Spit/Dam.
Fast sweepers to Kilcoy.
Head back down through Woodford.
Right turn up and over Mt Mee.
Right turn at Daybro back down Samford Valley.

chalk will agree that we have some pretty awsome roads within 15 mins of both our homes, canberra is surrounded by mountain ranges so you can imagine.

check out Paddys river rd, brindabella rd two name two.

click on satelite and follow them to get a better idea.

just to the right of paddys river you can see the deap space tracking dish, and just right of that is my subburb, kambah.
its an awsome 35 min run from my house and back again.

Yep Coppins crossing Rd is less than 5 minutes from my place. And if I want a longer ride I often take the old Hume Highway towards Sydney, taking the Braidwood back roads to Goulburn, you even get to race trains for intersections if you're lucky :D

Yep, there sure is. Always have to resist pulling over and stripping down to my speedos, gold medallion and strapping on the chest wig mate, but I usually manage.

Chop i find Tassy is like Phillip Island, whenever someone asks which is the best bit its hard to tell because its all bloody brilliant.

Found some nice roads last week
Eildon to Mansfield the back way including Mt Bulla
on to Whitfield,Lake William Hovel, lake Buffalo, Mt Buffalo all the way to the horn.Hotham,Omeo,Anglers rest (Great meal at the Blue Duck),
Mitta,Dartmouth,Hume weir then home 1400kms of great riding country only ~60 kms of dirt and we could have cut that down if we didn't start to go out to the A1 mine but realising it was too late in the day and accomodation was limited in the area went back .

having lived down in tas for a while and can agree with the others in that for the 10 roads you thought where good, you could be shown another 20 that are absolutely awesome. ahh the memories writing of my first bike zx2r.....

Ahh, good ol SA :)

I took the black bike for a spin up to Lobethal the week before I bought it back to NSW. Got some odd looks from the all leather wearing, Latte sipping, Ducati riding boys when I rocked up there

Took the long way home the other arvo. Phillip to Kambah via the Cotter (even went up the hill to Uriarra Rd and back , cos thats too good a series of corners to just ride past).Seems to to be suffering from a lack of maintenance, especially round Pierces Creek.
Used to live 20K north of Windsor on the Putty Rd,it's a much better road than it used to be,specially up the hill from Colo Bridge.
