ok blokes here we go ! in my gsxr1000 k2 what model engines can i get in there as a stright change over before its to many mods ??????

1000 motors up to K4 should fit reasonably easily, From K1 to K4 the engines were pretty much the same physical dimensions as the SRAD motor they were based on,the design changed significantly from K5 onwards, you will have to change your ECU, and possibly a few other bits if using a K3/4 motor, but a K1 or K2 will be a straight swap. With a bit of work you can fit a Busa engine in there, obviously you would need the complete running package including the loom and ECU etc, but I've seen a couple done.

simple changover between 01 and 04, and for the ecu differences, as Dynomutt pointed out, any accesories with different plugs to your k1, just use the k1 part, the basic motor is essentially the same i think the crank trigger wheel will need checking can't remember if the03-04 have the 8 or 24-2 tooth
